You are right about the 70's - golden era of TV my arse.

I wonder what delights the BBC will bring us on 31st Jan & 1st Feb in recognition of our leaving the EU? I'd go for The Great Escape.

Used to study them so excitedly, I can remember them off by heart.

loved the xmas radio times, ticked everything i wanted to see over the period,do you remember billie smarts circus and   on itv i think it was, 90 mins prog showing a little of each comedy that was on at the time ,and i recall on bbc 2 around 10.am every day over 1 particilar xmas showing the full tarzan films, watching them with my dad

The great thing was that each ad included a FREEPOST address to send off for a full-colour catalogue.

When I was about ten, I used to write off for a couple of dozen of them every Christmas, and browse through them in wonder all through January. Then, every August, we'd still end up setting off for a week at exactly the same guest house in Ramsgate as the previous summer.

Never mind. At least by then the Beano Summer Special would be out.

Great nostalgic post screaming...it bought back many memories.

There are DVDs with loads of back copies on ebay if you look, hers one (and no I am not or dont know who's selling them).
