I only remember him from the 80s with a whisky and a smoke on his stool but it was lovely learning about his history and family life. What a gentleman

My Dad was a huge fan too. Being a Catholic he loved the religious sketches and stories in particular. One of the greats. I also particularly liked his may your God go with you at the end.

Wondered why we never saw repeats of his programs, but he had it written into his contracts that they would only ever be repeated once. A great shame now that we cannot see this comedy genius programs from years ago.
