mac-not the same job now as it was

No you are absolutely right but you can say that about country its not the same place.
The big changes came in under Tony Blair and his Rs licking the EU with downstream access (allowing parasites to use the post office to deliver their mail at knockdown rate) even though the rest of the EU abandoned opening up their mail markets . then there was barring the post office to compete with electronic mail (email) by the big companies, email is seen as being free but IT cost money and is prone to fraud, but the big plus in our favour is posting out can be a revenue stream, companies can legitimately charge an extra 50p on the bill for a paper monthly statement but it might only cost them 30p per item to send out resulting in a 20p per item profit per issue.

Because I am a "Professional Drive." under our terms and conditions bank holidays are classed as just another day therefore Boxing day according to the Royal Mail is just another working day so I have to attend my duty.
I hope public never find out that our biggest money spinner of the year and the reason that the Royal Mail is still providing a service (Christmas) is of no special significance to the Royal Mail.

just heard about someone that got the sack he had taken a photo of the inside of a postbox barcode he was scanning his phone while at home watching the telly, but they had put test letters in some of his collection boxes and so I am told they can tell the location when you use the scanner and on this occation it didn't tally. He had already been warned more than once about skipping boxes so they had no choice but to hand him his notice, he had 32 years in service.

mac-you can"t defend him if hes not doing boxes and someone with 32 years service should know all about the I.B and how they work

Some of these "celebrities" are so full of themselves. Just because they are good at one thing they think they are good at others too, and any differing views or opinions immediately would seek the comfort of their "enlightenment" in another overused excuse this time racism and misogyny.

I think Twitter is for people with an overblown ego, but insecure with a thin skin.

Charities helping the most vulnerable in society have reported an increase in support after the Conservative victory in the general election, reports Georgina Hayes.

Shelter, Refuge, the Trussell Trust and the Biscuit Fund have all confirmed they have seen a sharp increase in donations and/or registered supporters as a result of the election outcome.

While unable to give exact numbers, the UK homelessness and housing charity Shelter said it had seen an increase in the number of people signing up as supporters since the result.

Any positive help can only be good.

There were a few donned in x'mas gear shaking their money boxes outside my local Tesco and Sainsbury today. I gave nothing (didn't have change) neither did I trust them; there are big baskets with food donation written inside these retailers too - my preferred option.

Donations to charities are up - good!

It shows people still believe in society and community and social cohesion, even after three years of the majority having their democratic win (and stake in society) not only denied but their motives and aspirations spat on and sh@t on and twisted by patronising b's'ards not sed to losing and indulging in a three year strop as a result

compassion for those in need has nowt to do with the will of the people.

its a choice for each person to make

to give, not to give and where you would like to give

Calling people who disagree with you Nazis and racists doesn't work. It doesn't resonate with ordinary people. It doesn't change minds. It doesn't win elections.

But you just can't stop, can you?

Carry on!
