https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-7748277/Chaos-Lords-Taverners-Christmas-charity-lunch-comedian-Nish-Kumar-booed-off.html

Video footage from the event, shared on social media, showed the extent of the heckling, as Kumar apparently implied the audience were 'thick' for not sharing his views.

The witnesses added that Kumar, who had taken to the stage after a well-received question and answer session with Harry Redknapp, reacted defiantly and told the audience he was going nowhere.

Eventually, a quick-thinking compere stepped in and persuaded Kumar to exit the stage. At one point, with anger rising, witnesses said a bread roll was thrown.

I think that a free thinking unbiased (alleged comedian) should be treated so unfairly by such narrow minded people - just coz they have different views to him.  Why couldn't they have had a mummysmentum party instead ho ho ho

What happened to him had happened fairly regularly on comedy circuit up and down the country thus why was he singled out? If he was inadequate professionally the heckling could be the norm, and he'd soon realise a new day job would be necessary or punters could vote with their feet.

Tbh I had to 'google' to find out who Nish Kumar was; barely recalled seeing the bloke on tv let alone his performance. I do not even think Michael McIntyre is funny, but I did like Barry Humphries.

The MC was hilarious. “It’s time for the raffle” as he hustles Kumar off the stage. :)

Here’s the full car crash performance:

yes saw humphreys  too  -live - started with the 'cultural ambassador'   and he set up a young couple

the management got them to re park their car so they were late coming into the theatre

they try to sneak in but have to get in the middle of the audience near the front

you can imagine - he picked on them on and off all evening

and some oldies in fur coats etc   and we all had gladdis to wave at the end

a clever bloke

Heard at a Royal Command Performance, entertainers being introduced to the Queen...

Tommy Cooper : Excuse me Your Majesty, do you like football?

The Queen : Not really Tommy

Tommy Cooper : In that case Your Majesty, could I have your tickets to the FA Cup Final ?

Many comedians have metaphorically died on stage, but it was Kumar’s petulant whining that really stood out here as exceptional.

The “I’m not going anywhere, I’m not leaving the stage” routine just before the MC hustled him off was particularly funny.

I wonder if Miles Jupp played to the crowd afterwards?

I would have opened with something like: “Let’s hear it one more time for Nish Kumar, ladies and gentlemen.” Or even: “First prize in the raffle tonight is two tickets to Nish’s forthcoming tour in... etc.”

Seems the consensus is that Nish is as funny as piles. It's what you get when you don't have the safety of a vetted crowd that he would have on any of his comfy tv shows, where his guests/colleagues are of the same hate trump/boris opinion. Still, he needn't worry, the BBC and Channel 4 will be loving him for a lot longer yet.
