i'm not sure of your point? Islam could certainly be considered a form of brainwashing.
The problem is that these are not the actions of an individual acting out a twisted or perverted version of Islam. Like all Islamists, this is a guy aiming to act out and replicate as closely as possible the life of the prophet Mohammad , the actions of whom are considered perfect and immutable across all time. It is the most literal interpretation of the Islamic faith. |

i meant that nutters can be influenced to pull the trigger through many means ...films, video games ,peer pressure ,stress ,injustice ,self esteem issues .
I do agree that we need to be on the ball with radical groups ...but didn't we have bombings in London years ago on a regular basis? ...think i'd feel safer there today |

Fair enough, although it is one particular group or influence - Islam, that seems to be, on a worldwide scale, the most cogent influencer of them all - 35,000+ terrorist atrocities since 9/11 and counting.
If the leading authorities on demographic study are to be believed, we are two or three generations away from an Islamic majority in the UK. Given the way Islam is implemented in majority countries worldwide this should clearly be of primary concern. Spikes of activity, such as the atrocity on friday, are a mere foreshadowing of what is to come. Yet we have reached the point where we can’t even name the problem without fear of ostracism and retribution. Let alone discuss it openly. |

and you don't think Christianity is a form of brainwashing? You obviously didn't got to a school run by the Christian Brothers of No Mercy! |

Lots of ideologies might be considered a form of brainwashing. You could if you were feeling particularly uncharitable consider Christianity as such but it’s important to highlight a few key differences between the two faiths... The Reformation. The Division between Church and State. The fact that the worst excesses of Christianity have long since been disavowed by the majority of Christians worldwide. The fact that in Christianity the most objectionable material is superseded by the New testament and the actions of Christ - Love thy Neighbour. Turn the other cheek. With Islam however the converse is true. The early peaceful Meccan verses are superseded and abrogated by the violence in the Medinan verses and the actions of Mohammad - Pumped a nine year old, beheaded 600 Jews in an afternoon. About as Holy as Jimmy Saville’s c o c k. Where are the seemingly endless supply of Christians blowing themselves up amongst fields of non-combatants? Absolutely no equivalency. |

You haven't seen the War Graves in France have you |

Yes I have.
How is that relevant? |

You could, I suppose if you were completely off your rocker, make the case that both world wars were Christian crusades...
but even so how might that be relevant to the way Christianity and Islam operate in the world today? |

Jehovah Witness brainwashes; Mormonism brainwashes; Scientology brainwashes. But, they do not enact their teachings/ideology in cowardice terrorist killings.
Stabbings of black youths: If authorities genuinely want a massive reduction in knife crimes it would have happened already eg implement draconian and very strict measures eg immediate imprisonment for carry a knife in person; stop 'n' search (person and vehicle); severe fine eg £10k for retailers if bought by underage individual. I believe The UK are far too soft on this crime for fear of upsetting the community concerned on pc ground - elsewhere it would have been sorted ages ago, and not increased. |

The Spanish Inquisition Slavery Colonialism |

^^
The world has moved on; Spanish Inquisition, Slavery and Colonialism have been outlawed and consequences could be huge (unless/only used post major terrorism acts eg 9/11 (Guantanamo) - even that was unlawful. As the perpetrator was the USA (the lion in the world who were the victim too) a blind eye was turned by the rest of the world given their supremacy. WMD: These the babies of Bush and his lapdog Blair (reason no knighthood post his Premiership). |

Intention counts for quite a bit WD
Attempting to secure and stabilize a new democracy is one thing Perpetuating totalitarian armed misogyny is quite another |

Intentions do count lux.
The problem is that these are not the actions of an individual acting out a twisted or perverted version of Islam. You are damming law abiding citizens who do no wrong and conform to the law of our land. Do you think every muslim is a terrorist? You talk about brainwashing. Let me ask you why do we have a Church of England? Why can a Catholic not accede to the throne? I don't particularly want to defend the muslim religion but after the muslims who is next? Socialist's, Trade Unionist's, handicapped? |
|
By:
Every religion has its shortcomings nevertheless, their followers did not run amok in the streets of London knifing or mowing down innocent bystanders to death.
I do not blame Islam however, I do blame its coward (too scared or unwilling to sacrifice their own lives) and "screwed-up" practitioners online or otherwise. |

Islam is an ideology. Muslims are people and as such tend toward a relatively broad spectrum of views. Generally speaking, four main groups – Jihadists – Islamists - Conservatives – Nominals. So, in answer to your question, no I don’t think every muslim is a terrorist. However, given the way Islam is implemented in majority nations the world over, given a cursory glance at any of the major polls conducted into the attitudes of British Muslims and given that the Islamic school who control the majority of UK mosques are ultra conservative and anti-British - I do think that the well documented demographic shift should be cause for major concern. If current trends continue we are a matter of generations away from civilizational collapse. I have nothing against Muslims personally. Condemning somebody over an accident of birth would be idiotic in the extreme. Ultimately, a refusal to criticize Islam is to collude in the subjugation of Muslims (especially women) worldwide. |
