Say the Conservatives win the election but do not have a clear majority, what happens to Brexit then as I guess we will be in the same situation and no further forward. This could be the election that never was!

Tories on course for a clear majority.
Report Stow_judge November 27, 2019 10:43 PM GMT
The parties would have the opportunity to form a coalition to make up a majority (of MPs, or seats). It would not be a bad thing, since both parties appear to have extreme positions. A coalition means compromise & they might be brought to a more central position, so a softer Brexit might be a possibility. Many experts believe that we would be better off continuing to benefit from the EU trade deals, since if we left the customs union & tried to negotiate new trade deals ourselves, we would be arguing from a weaker position and also, they usually take many years to complete. In those years, our economy might suffer very badly.
Don't forget that even if the conservatives were to get a majority, we would them move to a "temporary arrangement", where we keep paying the EU, while we negotiate a trade deal. The earliest time that this could be completed is December 2020. It's very unlikely that a deal will be agreed by then, so yet another few years after that would be a more likely target for completion.

So it actually would be a bad thing, for those who voted out. Let it go man, you lost.

So with it looking like a big majority for Boris, and as we knew all along leave is what the country wants, ie the 2016 result...

So you remainers, the Labour lib mps etc who lied and many went against their voter wishers destroying democracy...

You have cost the country billions with this 4 year delay when you could have just respected a democratic result, this labour party will go down as the most anti democratic disgrace ever, good to see a lot of the public are putting them in the trash where they belong...
Report doridoru November 28, 2019 11:36 AM GMT
All this peoples votes bollocks etc, Leave won, 2017 election - leave agenda won, now 2019 leave policy won,

3-0 yet the remainers will still be spouting their crap, pi55 off to Venezuela or Zimbabwe where your politics will be respected.

Unfortunately for you Brexiteers "Get Brexit Done" is a load of bull. Stow Judge is quite right that a new deal with the EU,particularly with the red lines over the customs union, deregegulation and movement of people that Johnson is saying he will insist on,will be well-nigh impossible ever, nevermind by the end of 2020. In the meantime Hancock was busily giving guarantees this morning about the future of the NHS in any trade deal with the US,which if they stick to it means a deal there is most unlikely. Whatever the result of the election Brexit and its negative consequences are with us for years yet.

Salmon spray and sj ..both a couple of typical  sore losers who cannot deride anything positive from leaving the controlling EU. Spot on with your comments doridoru,100% correct.

Actually I was a leaver originally, but I wasn't anticipating this mess. And it's not down to remainers. It's due to the fact that we have dug ourselves too deep into the integrated EU economy to get out either easily or without considerable pain. I am still unenthusisatic about the EU tbh but I am also a pragmatist not a fanatic.
