To win 6 world titles is some achievement , bravo Lewis

my point about nutcases is very relevant when mentioning Guy Martin on a bike

For me the best driver ever i think was Ayrton Senna

or in fact sitting on a bus

You ain't kidding Bap! The bloke's completely off his rocker.
I remember watching Senna crash, Anx. A truly awful day ![]() |
By:
Yeah i remember it well was very sad , ruined a great day for me as United clinched the title with a 2-0 win at Ipswich
By:
There was a documentary on a few months ago about Senna it was very good , apparently i think it was Imola 1994 and there doubts about the safety of the track weeks before

Back in them days was really dangerous niki lauda was very fortunate to escape when he crashed
By:
I think that isle of man tt bike race was very dangerous too , quite a few died on that track

Lewis will never be the greatest coz he is the wrong colour and the racists fkn hate it.
If it was Junior or Senior Hill the press would be all over them I remember Graham being on tv lots of times when the awards were up for grabs on brussels broadcasting He is the complete racer - able to bring ailing cars home as well as blitz others wheel to wheel. |

252 killed at Isle of Man tt

That's mental Anx. Off their rockers those biker blokes.
By:
Trilby the only thing you can say is these drivers must know the risks on such tracks and think Que Sera
By:
one got killed yesterday in Japan; Moto race, Only 20

Hamilton is just so very good as a racer against others but also capable about thinking ahead as he races. The recent 'nursing' of cars home is an indicator of that. Listen to what Rosberg says about him. An the Lauda stuff too when mercedes were 'a mess' in rosberg's words.
not that I know fk all it is going to be so absolutely interesting as Leclerc picks up the mantle with Vettel still there verstappen still going hard at it and how about Albon!! If norris team can progress with that honda the grid will be very exciting for F1 fans next year |
By:
isn't that nice
he sent greetings to ron dennis thanks for spotting me in 2008 |

I am proud to see the union jack everywhere - representing my country - eat it up all you racists and haters of britain

I teas a book about the story of the German motorcycle company MZ and the brilliant engine designer Walter Kaaden and works rider Ernst Debner the amount of fatalities in motocycle racing back in the 60s is eye watering. In the words of one top class rider 'you have to have a scant regards for life especially your own " to be a success in this game

oh yes and I forgot to add - they are all mad as frogs (sorry french persons) etc

there's a vid of LH, Mo grabbing a handful of Nicole Shirtswingers boob & shouting at the phone he was recording it on - "Look what i got"
a class act |

John Surtees remains the greatest ,did it on two wheels and four.
John Surtees, who has died aged 83, was unique in being the only motorcycle as well as Formula One world champion. He had one of the most diverse careers in motorsport, competing in Formula Two as well as sports car racing, and ending as a constructor with his own Team Surtees. Moving to Grand Prix car racing in 1960 after achieving seven motorcycle world titles, he became world champion with Ferrari four years later, a feat achieved by no one else in the history of motorsport before or since. |

By:
u can get the worst driver and put him in hamilton car and he would have a chance its the cars that are good not the drivers
By:
id agree, I don't think hamilton is that great, just in a dominant car
jim clark wasn't just racing f1, he'd be competing in several race divisions in the same season, which is sadly how he eventually got killed, but for me was possibly the greatest ever race driver I don't think the drivers aids and pit wall manipulation makes it a pure watchable sport these days, when you see the most exciting part of a race is the pit stop it makes it all a bit of a farce |
By:
Hard to compare Hamilton to the likes of Fangio and Clark or even Senna.
What is clear is that he is the best of his generation without peer despite what the haters here think and more class than the likes of the Shoemaker who deliberately drove into another driver to secure one of his titles. |
By:
Senna once deliberately drove into another driver to secure one of his titles.
By:
the best drivers end up in the best cars, the drivers are not chosen randomly, Hamilton in the same car as his teammate every year, has outperformed him 11 out of 13 times which shows it's not just the car it's him, last season he finised 160 points ahead of Bottas, this year the Ferrari's have had a competitive car with 9 poles and 3 wins from 19 races, on Schumacher I remember him deliberately stopping his care during qualifying on the trace at I think Monaco, meaning Alonso couldn't complete a lap and get pole, Schumacher had pole taken from him anyway though I think, still both great drivers.
By:
I think Lewis Hamilton is very good, and certainly up with the likes of Prost, Lauda, Alonso and even Senna - Senna is very, very good. He certainly is better than Shumacher who was a good driver (in the best car) and who also deliberately steered into Damon Hill to win one of his 7 world titles.
I also think Lewis Hamilton ought to be knighted - he did have the best car overall - given what he's achieved in Formula 1 (6x world champion); Andy Murray received a knighthood for winning one Wimbledon title. |
By:
biggest thing for me is his incessant moaning over the radio whenever he gets put put under pressure
never heard a bloke whine so much about his tyres, other drivers or the tactics when it goes wrong, the year he got done by Rosberg he cried almost every fecking race, poor loser and really insincere |
By:
he wasn't really done by Rosberg, Hamilton a few engine problems that season, 2 car retirements, couple of ERS failings in qualies and hydraulics issue in Singapore, even then he only finished 5 points behind, I think that's why Rosberg retired from the sport straight after, he knew he couldn't beat him generally so went out on top. All drivers update their team with issues, where he has raised his voice or gotten tetchy is when the mechanic suddenly drops in on him given him information at completely the wrong time, either when he's in battle or turning a corner and needing to concentrate more than usual, communication is meant to be well time for when their in a long straight or coming into pit.
By:
not an expert by any means on F1 but hamilton has definitely won titles when not being in the best car - schumacher's no 2 was certainly never allowed to challenge him at ferrari
hardly any driver errors from him. compare that to the accident prone vettel |
By:
he whines like a girl
By:
^^
He's allowed that - he's very good, and girls ain't bad either! |
By:
so would I if I was under pressure - that is why he is so good - not only when he is streets ahead but also when he is in trouble
did you see how he nursed his car home in the mexican Gp when the pundits thought mercedes had screwed up the strategy |
By:
also you obviously haven't seen what rosberg said about him either - very complementary about how he behaves within the team
By:
cheers buzzer got it !!!
I have been going to grand prixs silverstone etc and BOAC 500 at Brands which date me rather I thought Hunt was one of the best as a DRIVER - STewart was so very good too. a lot of it is down to a driver working out how his car will work for HIM Stewart was superb at that and had a great team around it and dominated for several years that is what hamilton has - superb reflexes as a driver with an above average team around him who can adapt. |
By:
a great team around him(stewart) a lot of people didn't like stewart coz of his F1 politics (always on about safety) but he was right though wasn't he
also stewart dominated for so long which went against the grain a bit like hamilton then their is the hidden racism - you have to laugh if he was damon or his dad it would be a completely different ball game |
