If I've interpreted the law correctly, even if you're in a relationship, technically you should ask permission before you kiss your partner or put your arms round her waist.

The 17 year-old's incident was ridiculous.
However, if Paul Gascoigne suddenly slobbered unbidden over my face I wouldn't be too chirpy either. He is weak and a disgrace. |

Pretty much exactly what I was trying to say in my previous post, lyb.
However, the law states that sexual assault is defined as unwanted touching of any part of the body in a sexual manner. The problem is, imho, it won't always be easy to determine whether it was in a sexual manner and you won't always know if it is wanted. Hence my comment about asking for permission. |

I'm not really up to speed on legal matters in such cases but if convicted then I assume that will be of sexual assault and he gets put on the sex offenders list and a possible custodial?

I used to work with a girl who was an air stewardess in the early 90's. He was on her flight and grabbed her as she was passing, allegedly putting a hand up her skirt. She slapped him and was suspended later that day, she threatened court action but a couple of weeks later accepted an offer of 10k.

If his brief is any good then he might get away with with common assault & a fine,but in today’s frenzied climate who knows.i used to feel sympathy for the man but he really does ask for trouble.
