Depends what you're trying to accomplish. If you only want a nights entertainment then the softer and smaller fields on sky or unibet would be best imo. Obv stars/party/GG if you want to play a lot but the fields will be bigger and tougher.

holdem 2000 guaranteed rebuy went out in 61st place I never once reloaded enjoyed it even though I never cashed out

just play for fun if I lived to be thousand years old I would still be a sh1t player

I wouldn't rebuy either, since they started raking rebuys and add-ons. Sheer greed from ipoker. Structures are a lot faster now too, so edges are further eroded. Still, those games from 50c - €20 are very beatable on here.

Supposedly the network is going to pack up - so basically no poker from pretty much every major uk bookie.

It's been savaged by governments banning it. usa, Aus banned. France, Spain, Italy, Portugal are segregated in one way or another. Losing players will lose at a rapid rate and give up - partly because players are generally better now/it's easier to learn and the greed and structural stuff that I mentioned above.

Still not all bad, there's 13k players on GG right now. At a guess, probably 6-10x more than ipoker now. uk books want you in the casino or on slots or they don't want you at all!

cardenden, absolutely moronic post, as usual.

Forgot to add, e-sports is more the thing for kids these days so you're not getting that influx of younger players that you might have had in the past.

Rebuys and late buy ins have killed the torneys the same players raising and going all in every 2 or 3 hands because they know they can reload and as for the late entry you can play 2 hours and there will be more people left than when the game started

the same players raising and going all in every 2 or 3 hands

^People playing badly is a good thing.

The reason why edges are shrinking on here is because they increased rake, quickened up the blind levels, stretched out the pay-out structure (you might get a €12 min cash in a €10 MTT - more small cashes to get raked again) also 3rd party software, training sites, twitch, youtube.

It's still possible to win at a good rate here though. I haven't won any actual money but I've been winning at close to 30bb/100 this year in MTT's on Betfair. Their rake back is pretty competitive and structured classically but the rewards and promotions have pretty much fallen off a cliff.

I'm talking about ipoker/betfair specifically.

you related to the author of that article in the link?

haha no, The username is a darts player.

I forgot to add, that when countries ban poker (usa, Aus) or segregate their player pools (France, Spain, Italy) you obviously lose a lot of liquidity but you also end up with a higher % of players from eastern europe. Their relative poverty means that you get a lot of solid players grinding out small sums, which are actually worth something to them. Like you said, there's still plenty of total mentalists gambling on there.

Ha Ha last darts match I watch was Jokey Wilson and the crafty cockney
Report Richie_Burnett October 13, 2019 6:51 PM BST
I'm not a huge fan either. Just one of my mates was talking about him whilst I was making a new username.

There are some simple adjustments to make when you're playing against a lot of fishes who are just gambling: play a lot tighter, bet bigger and thinner for value and bluff less.
Report macarony October 13, 2019 7:04 PM BST
I only now play decent cards there was a time I was always chasing straight and flush draws and playing ace rag
Report Richie_Burnett October 13, 2019 7:21 PM BST
That makes sense in the early stages and almost all other times except the bubble and FT bubble where you need to do the opposite. Should work up to the €20 level. It's really low stakes but there's a load of games so you can ramp up the volume easily.

Like I said its first game I have played in a few years so I will take it steady but I will not be playing very much
Report Richie_Burnett October 13, 2019 8:00 PM BST
I noticed you said that. That's why I originally said unibet or sky cos they will have quick and fun games with loads of idiots - sky is uk only, so should be especially soft on weekend evenings. Games in a B+M casino will be softer still, if you live near to one (I don'tCry)
Report macarony October 14, 2019 12:53 AM BST
Thanks for the advice Ritchie I will try sky and unibet I think I had an account with unibet years ago but never really played on their site. Like you I live nowhere near a live venue but thats a good thing because I would get eaten alive

Have any of you guys been following the Mike Postle cheating scandal at all? Quite entertaining.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/29/news-views-gossip/mike-postle-cheating-allegations-faq-first-post-1753388/

What if I told you that the exact win rate doesn't matter?

a) The dramatic change in behavior July 18th that coincided with a dramatic change in results.

b) Numerous occasions where Postle prompted other players to rescan their cards as if he knew the live feed had not picked them up.

c) The visible frustration of the PLO hand were the live feed was only picking up two cards.

d) The changing of the cards hand. How did anyone know the cards of mucked unseen hand were wrong in the middle of the hand?

e) The ability to shove when the opponent was weak, fold when strong time after time after time never getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

f) Almost identical hands played completely differently when the opponent was strong versus when they were weak. Example after Example. Never wrong.

g) The strange staring at the crotch, phone off the table behaviors, never exhibited in previous losing sessions.

h) The booth interview where he seemingly knows when and where the live stream cut off and came back on.

Notice not one single bit of these pieces of evidence have the slightest thing to do with exactly how much he won, how often he reloaded, did he rebuy, how much he added on, how much is exact win rate was, or if he tipped the waitress or not.

Doing all of the above, it doesn't even matter if he lost money overall, it doesn't matter what his exact to 6 decimal places win rate was, these all indicate that he was aware of the live stream in real time. He cheated.

Have you watched any of it Dave? Hard to believe he got away with it as long as he did.
Report dave1357 October 14, 2019 5:37 PM BST
no just the 2plus2 thread

I will actually be pleasantly surprised if any police action occurs.  They and casinos generally dgaf.  Of course when phil ivey has them over, it's straight to the courts.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet October 14, 2019 6:30 PM BST
I'd be surprised if they face criminal charges too but hopefully the civil suit will be successful. Still think it might be hard to prove without the smoking gun, even though it's obvious. Lesser burden of proof in the civil courts obviously.
