Just started watching 'Curb'.
Seinfeld is my fav ever sitcom. If I recall the first series was the poorest. Agree though that that the other three are the comedy stars whose lives revolve around Seinfeld. Shallowness runs through all the characters as it does the star of 'Curb'. Wonderful support characters abound , Newman , Uncle Leo , all the parents ........... |

Thanks, Curb gets better and better, the Michael J Fox episode where he plays on his Parkinsons in real life is a belter...

I first came across Seinfeld many years ago on a Continental flight.
Must have seen every episode at least ten times each since then. Fantastically well written with a unique dynamic between the characters. The syndication of the series has produced mind boggling sums of money. |

I liked Seinfeld but there were some weaknesses to it - I found Kramers physical comedy tiresome, and the obsession with tying everything together usually felt crowbarred in (also a problem for Curb). There were great things about it though, mainly Jason Alexander as George, a superb character

I've never seen it, don't really now why I've never bothered giving it a look, but I feel I should at least watch an episode out of respect for Larry David.
Curb is by far the funniest American sitcom I've ever seen (and theres some steep competition in that genre), and probably the nearest thing I've seen to Fawlty Towers level of comedy genius. Maybe I'm reluctant to watch Seinfeld because I'm worried I'll be disappointed (I'm 99.9% sure I will be in fact) and that will somehow tarnish my appreciation of Curb. Crazy logic maybe but there it is. |

George getting fired for having sex on his desk with the office cleaner is still one of the funniest things that has ever been on telly
George is one of the great TV comedy characters |

George getting the carpenter in to remodel his desk , so he could sleep under it watching TV ....whilst bosses thought he was out busy.
George parking his car at work ,then arriving and leaving via the train ....looks like first in and last to go home. I came up with my own version.... Let everyone see you leave with files under your arm , dump them in the boot , take back to office next day......illusion you worked on them at home . |
