Everyone is afraid of death it is a human instinct...I am not so sure animals do, I don't think they know what it is
If we were in great pain physical or mental we may seek death...but that is only to end the pain |
By:
I'm not afraid of death just the prospect of an undignified run up to it. Not just yet though as I still have a number of books I'd like to read first.

I agree entirely, Mr F.
Death comes for us all. The best one can hope for is to meet it swiftly and, as you say, with dignity. Like most, though, I worry more for my family than myself. Best wishes. |

Death ? No . The manner ? Possibly

Are you a kamikaze pilot?

By:
You do not need to be afraid of death, i died 8 years ago and there is nothing, you are just not living any more, nothing to see!

Death is game over. So there's nothing to be scared about. Things change if you believe in afterlife though. Or if you have people that depend on you, like kids.
As others have pointed out, its not death itself that is scary. its the manner, or the consequences of it that make people scare of dying. |

scared

The thought of death is so terrible it would be better never to be be born
By:
The trick is to die without letting the thought of it cross your mind. its just the thought that's terrible, not death itself.
By:
I don’t like tricks because it doesn’t change the reality
By:
That's why you're scared of the thought of death.
By:
Not so much. I had a health problem that brought me close. Practice makes perfect.
By:
Why do people continue to do it ?
reproduce , when they know what lies ahead , it’s madness really |
By:
I would quite like Britain to be the first country in the world to put an end to the madness
And stop reproducing Maybe the rest of the world would follow our good example |
By:
Ideally leaving only the tress and the rivers and the hills and the clouds ,
and perhaps giraffes and elephants , that’s all That would be wonderful |
By:
We use our minds to try and restrict the true reality , ( as detraveller says)
so we don’t have a proper consciousness of life and the world and death and how terrible it really is |
By:
Not me either - part and parcel of life. However, the manner yes. I do not wish to be knifed to death or killed in a motor accident due to a prat driving recklessly and dangerously while intoxicated or drugs or drinks.
I also carry an organ donor card. |

so do I

There are a few on chit chat who have no need to fear death whatsoever as they are dead from the neck up already. Just read the posts of team mexico if you want that validated.

i thought about it a lot as a child; my best friend at school woke up one day with a lump in his neck, we were both 8 & three months later he was gone from us. I asked questions continually (no answers were satisfactory) about why this happened & why not to me etc. It shaped my life really as 'normal' things that would worry a child didn't seem to bother me. I turned cold to some extent & that lasted until i was well into my teens & the love for someone else made me revaluate things. I decided to live for each day & never worry about myself; this of course drives others around me nuts & always has. I guess i'm saying i don't care about death; it's the living that bothers me

Some people say they're afraid of dying, but not afraid of death.
Which I'll explain for those who are a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Dying can be very painful, but there's no pain once you're gone. And people like my good self will surely get whisked off to heaven pretty pronto, where the sun is guaranteed to shine on the righteous, all-inclusive of course. |

Perhaps we would be wise to adopt a Logan’s Run policy?
Enjoy a hedonistic lifestyle until thirty, before being thrown into some sort of giant orgasmatron that ***** you to death. |
