James Goldsmith went to Eton.

He received his formal education at Millfield, and Eton College, which he left early in 1949 at the age of 16, after winning a horse racing bet of £10 on a three-horsed accumulator, winning £8,000 (equivalent to about £262,000 in March 2017).[7] With his winnings he decided that he should leave Eton immediately; in a speech at his boarding house he declared that, "a man of my means should not remain a schoolboy!

And that Roy Keene used to get fed up of his relations who wanted to come and see him play for man it's as they wanted him to arrange their flight tickets and seats for the game

My mother cursed the day the Daily Mail went from broadsheet to tabloid.

"Bloody hopeless for getting the fire going in the mornings," she used to grumble.

Regarding the opening post, I went to Slough Grammar School. Does that count?

Oddly enough, one of my best friends in later life actually was at Eton at the same time as I was at Slough Grammar, but our paths never crossed until we both ended up going racing every day as adults. He does post on here very occasionally.

Sending your children to an excellent school like Eton is something most of us can only dream about. I’ve got four kids so couldn’t possibly afford it, but would in a shot if I could. A private education of that standard would be a wonderful thing to give them.

That made me more impressed with her
She got off at media city where the BBC and ITV are situated .I followed her and said excuse me .have you had private education ,to which she replied yes

Did you enjoy the St Leger?
Report Do wah Diddy September 19, 2019 12:18 PM BST
I lived in gorton when I first got married in 1975. We lived in a two up two down. With a geezer for hot water no bathroom just a tin bath that we kept in the backyard ?I put drawing pins in the wall paper to keep it up as it peeled off it was that damp .I used to go up in the small  loft in my underpants with a tin full of tar to try and stop the leaks in the roof.the neighbors were good apart from the alcoholic who lived next door to us whose alsation bit me when knocked on his door to tell him to turn the music down and that his frying pan was on fire .
We lived right next door to belle view a huge zoo and pleasure area which housed concerts and a fair.on a sunny day you could open your windows if they wasn't stuck and listen to the top acts like the Osmond's and rod Stewart
You could see the elephants walk down the main road when they advertised their circus

Gorton is a dump .you wouldn live there unless you had no other choice  .I don't know where you got the idea that it's a magical place from.
