It sounds like the file has been moved from it’s original location. Are you trying to open it from the whichever application it uses (ie. Word, Excel etc.)? Or are you opening it from File Explorer?

A photo from my "Windows Live Photo Gallery" which I snipped, and saved as a jpg file...
I've done it very many of hundreds of times, and it's just ridiculous that I get "File not found", on the one hand, and "already exists" on the other!
Not sure if this might be a related problem, but when I put up photos for the mods to approve, I don't get the usual "Pending Approval"!
In fact I just went in again and they have gone!
Nothing sensitive, just pictures of light fittings!

My guess would be you have changed the file extension that tells programs what sort of file it is. You have saved it (and are trying to re-save it) as one type, hence it already exists, but are trying to open it as its original type, hence not found.
That is only a theory, mind.
Tbh I cannot follow precisely what you are doing because there is not enough detail. I shall leave it to others to advise further.
@Gin's alternative theory that you have moved the files from their original location (easily done accidentally -- I've often accidentally swiped folders into other folders) may be the truth, and your program is looking in the old location (not found) and saving in the new one (already exists).

When it says file already exists, have you tried overwriting it? And then tried to open that file?
Have you tried saving at a completely new location and opening that file?
The issue with betfair is different. I have the same problem.

I know it's difficult trying to help remotely, without all details....
I feel I have tried what has been suggested but clearly, somewhere along the line, it has to be down to me!

It might still be on your clipboard - if "Paste" isn't greyed out try opening a blank Word doc and see if you can save what's on your clipboard to that.

If you can get a"Save As" menu up try that with a different name.
Also check to make sure you don't still have a window open that accidentally got moved off the screen or minimized.
"Move" followed by using the cursor arrows will bring windows back into view that have somehow shifted off the screen.
