Liberalism is to blame.
If they catch them they'll bang only bang 'em for a few months, then they'll get out and do it again.
And they know it.

We never saw this kind of thing before the do-gooders took charge of policing, sentencing, PC, holding coppers strictly to account etc.

It's taken years to get as bad as it is now, with respect for law and order almost gone.
It'll take a very hard line approach to make our streets safe again.
I believe the public have got the stomach for it but not the politicians.
Which is another good reason to leave the EU, and get this human rights business out of the way for a start.

Meanwhile don't be old, don't be infirm, and don't go out on your own.
What a country the do-gooders and bleeding-hearts have created.

^^And there's your problem.

They think a few more coppers will put everything right.
But more coppers aren't going to make any difference if no one has any respect for them or the law.

A copper with a gun and ready to use it, gets more respect than twenty pc coppers worried about ending up in court for saying the wrong thing or being filmed assaulting someone.

During the 1990s, crime rates in New York City dropped dramatically, even more than in the United States as a whole. Violent crime declined by more than 56 percent in the City, compared to about 28 percent in the nation as whole. Property crimes tumbled by about 65 percent, but fell only 26 percent nationally.

Many attribute New York's crime reduction to specific "get-tough" policies carried out by former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani's administration. The most prominent of his policy changes was the aggressive policing of lower-level crimes, a policy which has been dubbed the "broken windows" approach to law enforcement. In this view, small disorders lead to larger ones and perhaps even to crime. As Mr. Guiliani told the press in 1998, "Obviously murder and graffiti are two vastly different crimes. But they are part of the same continuum, and a climate that tolerates one is more likely to tolerate the other."

Dr Crippin is absolutely right, if someone set up a hard line political party with restoring Law and Order as it's main policy, Bringing back power to Teachers and Heads in School, teaching of manners and giving kids a moral compass etc. More prisons tougher and longer sentences, a return of capital punishment, all police to be fully armed. Army sent in to the roughest areas to clear out Drug dens etc, i'm sure they'd romp in, ordinary people have had enough of the thugs, drug dealers, cross country lines, burglars, gypsies doing as they please. Any immigrants who commit crimes to be sent back to where they come from etc.
Apparently this makes me a right winger, just an ordinary bloke as far as i know, the bleeding hearts and pc brigade have ruined this country.

lol gulliani did some god things in new york even though heis and was a bush -trump lover , he did target white collar crime too which previously had been a no go area, but the crime rate was already coming down under david dinkins before guliani took over

Crime is awful drugs gangs etc , but crime and and a criminal way of life is only symptomatic of the  society you live in , if you live in a rat race then expect people to act like rats , spiv culture certainly does that
By:

Sod all to do with liberalism. The Tories axing 20,000 coppers can't have helped. New York hired an extra 7,000.

Also, you won't believe this, most baddies are thick as mince and are not deterred by cctv cameras everywhere, like the politicians thought they would be. As in this case where you'd think they were auditioning for a bit part in Corrie.

Not to mention that if they drove off in a car, they've probably got more money than their victim who is waiting for a bus because he can't afford a car or to get a cab home.

The above crime is now acceptable to these types no amount of extra policing or proposed opportunity will change this it's a cultural thing their attitude is to get what they can for themselves and they set the boundaries.
All they do is take take take and all society does is give give give the only way to change the culture is tougher sentences and deterrents (removing benefits and curfews) lack of opportunity and policing is a ready made excuse and when given these things they'll always find another to justify such behaviour.
They send Social worker types (have forgotten the title) to such criminals' houses when they come out of jail and back in society as a go between to justify their benefits, organise doctors appointments for drug testing, meds etc whilst sweet talking the dishonest thieving scum who'll do anything to get their lives paid for and people wonder why this sort of crime is on the increase and some even think legalising drugs will solve the problem.
It beggars belief I've got one of these types in my family (have said this a few times) when he was hiding from other people and had nowhere to go he'd spend the afternoons at my house as he knew I'd be watching the racing,as he was a drug addict who drank daily his mouth wasn't as controlled as it could've been and I got to know him and his mates type very well needless to say most don't know the half.

There are certain groups who not only think they are above the law but ARE above the law and are generally protected by hate crime laws or polis being scared to touch them.
There are others(criminals) who simply view it as a career knowing so much will not be investigated and punishment light.

The police are controlled from the top with a Common Purpose and University ideology which supports  'blame everyone else' and maintaining a biased twisted view of the world.   Start at the top, whilst sweeping the streets clean - they know who it is in landan for instance - they know most of the gangs, but are scared to do anything because of the ideology of the Lammy/abbot view - Khan and May have a lot to answer for too.

Just see what the politicians, starting with blair, have let into your place. As I say so often - it is votes votes votes.  I think it may be all too late.
20,000 in 300 constituencies have it!
Check out the comments by the Labour guy standing against johnson -  'shifting demographic' may give you a clue.

There are certain groups and cultures who are prepossessed towards criminal behaviour.  There are certain people who make life style decisions.  You only have to join the dots up.  They get the 'right on' signals from the politicos, police chiefs and the courts to carry on getting away with it.

btw I think that anyone who supports capital punishment should have to sign up for a ballot where one of their number gets executed every year, after all they don't see anything wrong with it happening to the wrongly convicted.

In a desperate attempt to add balance have you ever seen 'left wing' response to law and order as cited by stewarts/crippen.
Let us look at stalin, East Germany, mao, the current HK thingy, Pol Pot just for starters they all followed a left wing socialist ideology

I actually see no difference  - it is about controlling the streets and locking up those who want to steal from us or hurt us for whatever selfish self seeking reasons.

hope this helps.

If a do-gooder wants to be lenient and let someone off a prison sentence (or similar) by letting them back into the community. Let them do so. But with a proviso. Let them become actual neighbours of the culprit. See then how their view changes. At the minute the culprits ARE integrated into the community, but always on someone else's doorstep.

Let the 'scum' (sorry already) live next to the Politicians, the Judges, the Police Commissioners and so on.

If the do-gooders had to put up with what a lot of normal people put up with. The vast majority MIGHT start to think like the rest of us.

Only a subtle change, only one of several needed. But changing the view of those in charge would be a start.
