A newlywed 28-year-old police officer murdered while responding to reports of a burglary was described by his devastated family today as the 'loveliest person that you will ever meet'.

PC Andrew Harper was allegedly struck by a car in Sulhamstead, Berkshire, and dragged under it for a distance, before being hit by another car last night.

PC Harper had married his fiancée Lissie on July 18 in a 'dream wedding', and they were due to go on a honeymoon next week to celebrate. Relatives said they were left 'devastated' by his death but added that they were 'so proud of him'.

One of the cars fooked off the other stayed , Needless to say I never had the Pleasure of Meeting Nicole or Phoebe

Detectives investigating the death of a police officer have said he died of "multiple injuries", as they were given more time to question 10 suspects.

Ten males aged between 13 and 30 have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Thames Valley Police said on Saturday it had been granted an extra [36 hours to question the suspects.

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murdering a police officer as he investigated a burglary in the Berkshire countryside.

Jed Foster, of Reading, was today charged with the murder of PC Andrew Harper as he responded to a burglary and was dragged underneath a van in Sulhamstead on Thursday night. 

Nine have been released on bail until September. Foster will appear at Reading Magistrates Court tomorrow morning, where he is also charged with stealing a quad bike on the same day.

I hope the police won’t need to question the other 9 again as they’ll be back in the wilds of Ireland by tomorrow night.

My wife is a traveller (romany) . She drove on public roads from the age of 12 and didn't pass her test until her early 20's
Maybe they'll add 'driving without insurance' to the list before the weeks out . I can't understand why they tack on relatively minor charges to the more serious charge of Murder ? If he's gonna go down for 25-30 why give him a further 18 months to run concurrent and a 3 year driving ban ?

In cases like this I would imagine a he said she said will result in them all going down and maybe there will be a rat emerging. That's the thing with tough guys, they always rat to save their skins.

It might be hard to prove who was driving. Was the car burnt out or not? I just hope they haven't put up a random with a rock solid alibi who was elsewhere at the time and is on a government surveillance camera proving his innocence.

That is certainly what I would do if I wanted to get the guilty off. I don't have any experience with the law but I know they have a specific charge to get the lot sent down. I hope they use it too. Leaving the murder to one side these people cause havoc and misery. Everyone knows they cannot parade a quad bike around less the nee'r do wells locate them. The bikes are often attached to heavy chains set in concrete in the garages.

This is a huge chance to show the law working for the benefit of us all. I hope they lay the right charges and anyone involved and guilty gets a heavy sentence.

Three teenagers have been charged with the murder of a police officer who was killed while investigating a burglary.

The Crown Prosecution Service said it had authorised Thames Valley Police to charge Henry Long, 18, and two 17-year-old boys with murder and conspiracy to steal a quad bike.

Thames Valley Police said on Tuesday the latest arrests followed "new evidence coming to light".

A provisional trial date of 20 January had been fixed.
