@Baphornet -- it is not the dissenters, it is the Leavers who have messed things up so far, and who now run the show. It is the Leavers, including the prime minister who also fronted the Leave referendum campaign, who get to choose. I hope there will be a deal, and if so, I imagine it will look a lot like Theresa May's deal with a couple of minor changes so both sides can save face. If we crash out with no deal, as Boris threatens, a lot of ordinary people will get hurt. The millionaire politicians will be all right.

The country also has a right to change its mind

If Parliament cannot sort out this mess then the people should replaced their elected representatives!

That is democracy.

Ramruna: i don't know how many times i've got to say this, but the nutcases deal is kaput - gone, buried. Non-retrievable & non-negotiable. This is a point that the EU & the dissenters need to get their head around. It is the main reason that no-deal is being pushed. No one wants it, no one will vote for it (except Grieve) as a majority. The leavers messed nothing up; the nutcase did it with Molly Robbins; she signed something she shouldn't have because she knew that was all the EU were going to give/tell her what to present to Parliament. She also thought (wrongly) that her own Party would capitulate or she could bully them into accepting the surrender (wrong again) This isn't something i've just come on board with; i've been a hater of the nutcase since Lancaster House. The surrender was being planned as soon as they left the building. Everyone who you call a "leaver" ERG? Knew exactly what was happening from then. So they decided on their own plan of action over 2 years ago; & happily - for me & many many others, they now have control. The plain & simple fact is that the remain community in Parliament have been stuffed over; not only by the ERG, but by Labours inadaquecies & some very dumb MPs

"The definition of democracy is a form of government in which the common people hold political power and can rule either directly or through elected representatives" This is the crux; they either do what the people voted for or get out. Even Bozo understands this

@Baphornet

Boris voted for Theresa May's deal. It is true he also voted against it, but one imagines he does not feel very strongly about it either way.

Labour's 2017 manifesto committed it to leave, honouring the referendum result, but on far different terms from the May deal, and ruling out "no deal". You should not simply lump Labour in with Remainers. Not liking Theresa May's deal is something they share with you and the ERG.

For the ERG, if all that matters is leaving on any terms, then they should have voted for Theresa May's deal. If the terms do matter, and it seems they do, then they must not support "no deal" which is the worst of all possible worlds and which, as stated earlier, will immediately start new negotiations for deals but from a position of weakness.

LOL , Labour who lambasted the tories for making the deal bad due to May's "red lines" when they have 6 red lines themself they will not cross.

In this debacle, the ERG are at least honest. Labour have done nothing but try to position themselves both ways at every instance. A retarded communist leave leader trying to pretend he is a remainer to keep the metropolitan vote onside, ffs.

how do you know "it's the worst of all possible worlds?" you don't. None of us do; i made my decision & stick by it, i don't listen to a Canuck Europhile or a Europhile MD of the IMF who is as accurate with her predictions as Dave Nevison. As for Bozo voting for the deal, once he did, & he was conned.
I never lumped Labour in with remainers; i said they has inadequecies, & they have; one of them is called Corbyn. I also know (i just posted such) that no one liked the nutcases/EU deal. That's why it's dead & buried. There may well be some small parts of it repeated in a deal to come after we leave, just like most deals have repetitive points once agreed in full by all. This is a time for faith, we have just got rid of a lying sneak of a PM, who's negotiating skills are on a par with John Kerrys; but i don't expect any Europhile to agree with me, & i wouldn't expect them to
