this is McDonnell chatting sh ite:
The shadow chancellor’s comments at Edinburgh Fringe Festival on Wednesday suggested that MPs attempting to block a no-deal Brexit would involve the monarch if they ran out of options. Mr McDonnell said Labour would ask the Queen to appoint party leader Mr Corbyn as prime minister if Mr Johnson refused to step down. He said he did not want to “drag the Queen into this” but would “send Jeremy Corbyn in a cab to Buckingham Palace to say we’re taking over”. |

McDonnell 's comment was a quip.
BUT within the constitution, if Johnson loses a vote of no confidence in the government, as PM he should resign. His ' advisor' has stated , he would not resign. In this instance, the Queen would be advised that a new Government needs to be formed and she would insist that the ' defeated ' PM step down. |
By:
no the Queen can say what she likes , the pm will not stand down
The Queen will do as she’s told , by the people , not the republican anti democrats |

The UK economy is one step away from a possible recession, after shrinking 0.2% in the second quarter.
It is the first time the country's GDP - the measure of economic expansion - has contracted since late 2012. Manufacturing output fell by 2.3%, the biggest calendar quarter fall since 2009 The important services sector grew but at the weakest rate since early 2016. Business investment, which has been historically weak since the June 2016 Brexit vote, faltered further in the second quarter, contracting by 0.5%. Despite this, Chancellor Sajid Javid said the fundamentals of the UK economy are "strong". If the third quarter returns a negative result, then the resulting recession would be the first since the financial crisis and recession of 2008-09. But it will not be clear whether the UK has managed to avoid a recession or not until early November - after the 31 October deadline for the UK to leave the European Union. The pound fell against the euro and the US dollar on the GDP news. David Cheetham, chief market analyst at XTB, said: "Given the growing threat of a no-deal Brexit that looms menacingly overhead, it would not be at all surprising if the current quarter also shows a contraction - therefore meeting the standard definition of a recession with consecutive drops in quarterly GDP." Nancy Curtin, chief investment officer of Close Brothers Asset Management, said there is "no doubt the UK is struggling". "The services and automotive sectors have decelerated, construction and manufacturing have declined, and business activity has stalled. The impact of Brexit is no doubt exacerbated by the wider global slowdown." Chris Williamson, chief business economist at IHS Markit, said: "Given the backdrop of slower global economic growth and heightened Brexit uncertainty, the UK economy looks set to struggle in coming months. "There's a chance that we could see growth lift higher amid no-deal Brexit planning as we head towards 31 October, but the headwinds in the wider economic environment mean any such boost is likely to prove all too brief." |

The whole world seems to be heading downwards not just the UK,and the clue is,the likes of Russia, china,USA have been buying into precious metals big time for a little time now.But Brexit is a wonderful fear factor when used by the media.
By:
If the media didn't mention Brexit, would the impact that it is having on the economy (whatever that may be) be removed ?
By:
Would change the mood for sure, and as I say it would appear economy around the world are the same as ours,it looks like a recession all over again, they say even worse than 2008.

We haven’t left so their wild imaginings are neither here nor there

By:
good morning terry , the Labour Party and the Lib Dem’s cannot be trusted because we had a referendum which they are determined to overturn
It’s quite simple really , they can’t be trusted because they don’t deserve to be trusted |
By:
and of course it’s all remainers who cannot be trusted , if the last three years has taught us anything that much is safely clear
By:
( not all but the vast majority , a few have behaved honourably
By:
very few

It is the Leavers who kept us in by voting against Theresa May's withdrawal agreement. We'd have left the EU in March if it weren't for the Brexiteer headbangers in the ERG who kept voting against their own side. Boris managed to vote for it and against it.
By:
I admire them , they are happy to leave , stop preaching about others until you follow their good example and accept the democratic referendum
By:
They are happy to leave and yet they repeatedly voted to stop us leaving. That's the paradox of Tory Brexiteers.
By:
you’re not prepared to accept that democrat vote are you ramruma ?
There you go, that’s just another little example of why you can’t trust remainers They don’t deserve to be trusted |

the BJ is a dead Prime Minister walking
