A new breed of “super-quiet” Russian submarines are feared to be operating unseen in British territorial waters, according to military sources.

The new Russian Kilo-Class submarines are feared to be threatening UK security by tracking Britain’s fleet in the North Atlantic undetected or by tapping into under-sea internet cables.

HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier, and the nation’s nuclear deterrent submarines could be vulnerable to the Russian boats' stealth technology, extended combat range and ability to strike targets above and below the water as well as on land.

“The new First Sea Lord needs to deliver the underwater battle,” a senior military source told the Telegraph. “We must be better at what we do.”

“The Russians are benefiting from a huge increase in research and development spending 15 to 20 years ago which is now producing this new class of super-quiet Kilo Submarines.”

Be alert when you are walking along the coast, be on the lookout for those pesky Russian submariners Angry

Since Tory defence cuts have reduced the Royal Navy to a leaky aircraft carrier with no planes, two frigates and a canoe, there is not much we can do about it.

And because Jeremy Corbyn is a ****, the Tories can still pose as the party of strong defence.

nothing new , commie Russia since WW2 would trawl along the seabed damaging communication cables and British naval engineers had to routinely go out and fix them , difficult job to pinpoint where the damage was.
Typical Russia , rotten regime

Good job even Boris doesn't know the location of the Trident sub he'd give it to the Russians by mistake
Report Ramruma August 4, 2019 11:02 AM BST
Only way Boris would find out where Trident is (or are) is if Putin tells Trump who tells Boris.

If they're operating undetected how do we know they're there?
Report Angoose August 4, 2019 1:31 PM BST
It has been reported by several kippers.

I'm scared of these new “super-quiet” Russian submarines and frightened that we might be attacked, I'm shaking with fear as I type this. I think the only solution to this problem is for the government to increase our taxes so we can be protected from these invisible undetected submarines.

"tapping into under-sea internet cables"
Love to know how they'd tap in to bundles of fibre optic cables, and if they could and it's considered a risk, just encrypt it end to end.

It is noticeable that they've started back on Russia this last week after the Iranian debacle and the Boris distraction.

I think it's refreshing that the Ruskies are reducing noise pollution with their subs.

Our noisy lot upset the fish. Stresses the cod which then lose their taste.
