err because i told you at the beginning of our long & humorous chat last night, that i'd backed the Aussies @ 13/8; & for the series as well
By:
To be fair to the England selectors, they didn't have a lot of options.
Only a swing bowler with spine and 'upand at 'em' attitude who has never let England down and who consistently makes things happen with either the bat or ball and is a left-armer too, just for variety. Much better to go for a 37-year-old with a limp who hasn't played for four weeks. It's only the Ashes after-all. |
By:
indeed you did hornet , i was just checking on you to see if you was compos mantis
By:
did you back athletico madrid and the goals ?
By:
To have them reeling at 120/8 and letting the tail anchor Smith like that is totally unforgivable
We've never been great and polishing off the tail but that was pathetic today judging on the highlights 160 for the final 2 wickets against bunnies ffs ![]() ![]() |
By:
Didn't we have them in similar positions in 2013/14 in Aus?
Multiple times we had them 130/5 or 6 and they rallied every time winning the series 5-0 ![]() ![]() Its about time they learned how to bowl at tail enders ffs |
By:
i did my friend; & i owe you a few sherbets, or one of my famous tennis tips
In all seriousness, thanks for that & i will send you a goodun when i hear![]() |
By:
no worries hornet glad you backed them
By:
Think Australia will this test now , England had a big chance and blew it
By:
i dunno, i must admit i went in again when the Aussies were 5s, but this looks like a decent enough pitch now, slow & boring. It will be a very interesting morning tomorrow without doubt
By:
You got them at 5s well done, they are still 7-5 now England at 8-11 with Anderson unlikely to bowl cannot understand those odds
By:
You simply cannot trust the English batting
By:
me neither tbh; early days yet my friend. Although as i intimated, a very important morning tomorrow
By:
The problem with England is that they are 5 minutes away from a collapse. The way the ball swung early Australia posted a decent score mainly down to Smith.
The next 2 sessions will decide the match imo, think Englands price is 10-15% too short given they may have to bat last. |
By:
prices have shifted somewhat without a ball being bowled. No Anderson - weather shïtty?
By:
Morning Bap.
By:
afternoon EK
By:
Afternoon all. Ball doing a bit but Burns and Root holding in there. Roy gone cheap. I hope he proves me wrong but I just can't have him as a test cricketer.
By:
Amazing scenes earlier. Burns was given out caught behind but reviewed immediately. Another poor umpiring decision as never touched it. What the ball did touch was the wickets but amazingly somehow, the bails stayed on. Wasn't the slightest of touches either.
Anyhows, England 71-1. Lunch. Trail by 213 runs. |
By:
afternoon HGS. A good morning for England; could have gone boobs up but you get the feeling that one more wicket could lead to a few more quickly
By:
Indeed bap. Root hasn't looked that comfy either. Would like him to get a big un to settle him for the series.
By:
It was Root who survived the gravity defying bails, would be nice if he goes on to take full advantage.
By:
Indeed Angoose. Was just about to correct mesen.
![]() |
By:
Half century for Burns. Would've walked if the Aussies had reviewed one earlier. England need 1 more to avoid the follow on!
![]() |
By:
Root given out. Reviewed immediately. Inside edge. Another poor decision.
By:
Hundred partnership Burns & Roy.
By:
Gratifying to see proper test match batting from the England pair and clicking along nicely but you still get the impression that 'one goes - all go' with this England Team (maybe Stokes excepted who always plays the conditions)
By:
Half century for Root.
By:
Right. Here we go then. Root caught and bowled siddle. Eng 154-2 and trail by 130. How strong is this order???
By:
Another half century not converted by Root
![]() |
By:
Eng 170-2. Tea. Trail by 114 runs. England took both sessions. Massive final session to come.
By:
England are in a very solid position, say we finish the day at around levels on runs and 4 down then that 1.45 that we are at present will be long gone.
By:
Had our share of luck today slippy.
By:
Well after 60 overs the aussies have finally got the ball changed. Do I not like that!
By:
And whaddya know. Change of ball. Starts swinging and Denly gone lbw for 18. Eng 189-3.
By:
And there goes another. Buttler gone for 5 and it's all down to this new fekking ball imo. 194-4. Burns on 92 and sh1tting himsen.
By:
Burns hasn't scored a run for 35 minutes!
By:
Has the Wobble started...new ball in 14 overs time
By:
They already got their new ball
![]() |
By:
Century for Rory Burns and to think they had him plum lbw and didn't review!
