Heinz circa £0.85p v Tesco £0.50p

Taste the same, and may even be the same...but it doesn't end there!

Add one can and a splash of water, and nobody would know...

Still thick and flavourful, and part of your "five a day" and with 91% being tomato....(salt 0.6g)

Interestingly they say "contains two servings"  (for three year olds?)

Often in Tesco they have fresh soup (own brand / Covent Garden etc) reduced to half price so I often get whats on offer. It's IMHO overpriced at normal price but at half price it's trading at value Wink Especially as it's bigger than a can.

don't get the CG lentil & bacon. You will need gold teeth to get through the lentils

I agree, always drink mine from a mug.

Waitrose own brand baked beans are far better than Heinz.

Would like to get into making my own but it seems a lot of hassle. Something to consider when I retire.
Report lybertyne July 31, 2019 2:56 PM BST
And less than half the price.

Making soup is easy to do, quick and delicious.  Plus you decide what does and doesn't go in.

Life originated on earth when light reacted with a bowl of soup.

lentil soup is a doddle; & you don't need gold teeth to chomp it

What if...some what we'd call 'alien' species has left a half-tin of soup at the back of his fridge and the mould growing on it is what we see as the 'universe'.  Let's hope he doesn't clean the fridge out.
