I've heard the reason Americans get circumcised is because it's cleaner.  This is bollocks.  If a chap is incapable of washing his chap in a correct and thorough fashion then he should be ashamed of himself.  Now for some graphic detail, not having a foreskin means the sensitive part of the Right Honourable Member is constantly rubbed against clothing.  Over time this rubbing desensitises it, making sex less enjoyable.  I imagine it also makes it sore and possibly callusy.  There are medical reasons why a circumcision is required and if adults want it done for the sake of it then that's up to them.  Circumcising little boys who have no say in the matter is as brutal and nasty as FGM.

lybertyne, I use a wire brush and bleach to clean mine, the proper way.

I had to get circumcised when I was 55,about 10 years ago.My foreskin was getting tighter and sex was painful. I have lost a lot of feeling down there.Unless there is a medical reason I would ban it.It is child abuse.

Until they are forcing me or my kids to get circumcised, I am not giving a rats ass about issues that BBC feeds me. If the Muslims cut their penis, who gives a feck?

Most Americans are circumcised because it's the norm there, not that they're Jewish or Muslim.  Religion, by the way, is no excuse either.  If their god is so perfect, why do we need to cut bits off his creation?

There are enough brave people in the world to take up issues like these. I'm not one of them. I only concern myself with what I'll face in my life. And I will probably never have to deal with circumcision. So I'll leave it to the child cruelty campaigners, bless them.

Some circumcise in the interests of cleanliness or religion. Others do it because they believe it prevents certain diseases and conditions from developing.

Some men's skins are too tight to pull back, this condition is called phismosis.
In these cases they might remove the skin, but it's not necessary because if the man perseveres in pulling the skin as far back as it will go every day, the skin will eventually stretch.

Are there regions as hot as or having similar climate to Saudi that don't do circumcision? Maybe it's just a thing that started due to it being so hot there and then stuck due to religious reasons? Or were the jews doing it before the Muslims?

It's because the sand gets blown up their thobes into the hood and chafes their helmets which causes embarrassment including constant scratching and occasional blowing of beans for the easily excited.
