Just checked (!) - I thought there was a maximum temperature in offices etc to work in but there isn't.

I've worked in stifling offices on normal summer days, the thought of being in one of those on a record hot day doesn't bare thinking about, it would be absolutel hell ScaredScaredScaredSadSad I'd just fall asleep tbh.

Didn't records begin in the 1850s? In the overall scheme of things hardly relevant is it. Bit like pelple thinking football started in 1990.

Silly

34 in Nottingham tomorrow

Wouldn't mind but its the shockingly high pollen and humidity ffs

34 in Turkey feels different to 34 in Nottingham because of that
Report casemoney July 24, 2019 9:18 PM BST
40 will be hit some where
Report SontaranStratagem July 24, 2019 9:31 PM BST
once 40 is hit we can listen to how we need taxing more and how we need more big pharma drugs to deal with hay fever etc

looks like it was a record breaker yesterday

It WAS Britain's hottest day in history! Forecasters are poised to announce yesterday was a record-breaker after new recording of 101.66F emerges
Provisional figure was recorded at Cambridge University Botanic Garden yesterday as temperature soared
Today Met Office announced it was investigating temperature which requires 'quality control and analysis'
If validated it would outstrip the current record of 101.3F (38.5C) seen in Faversham, Kent, in August 2003

what's wrong with a good old fashioned thermometerMischief

lots of supermarkets had refrigerated shelves that were broken because of the heat
Report darren_discombobulates_sports July 26, 2019 5:55 PM BST

And that is one pathetic attempt from the BBC Laugh

They spent 3 days giving us warning on how to "get through a heatwave" and all the rest

A truly shameful organisation, a pitiful one at that
