Thanks for posting these mac- very interesting. The leave London one I found quite personal. My dad should have been born in SE London like generations before him, but he was born in the country due to the blitz.

You are welcome Hank. Being evacuated might have saved your dad`s life.
How is young Hank these days? I hope that he is well. |

Very true mac. His dad stayed and was a firefighter during the blitz. He is doing well thanks mac - cheers for asking. Just a case of sit and wait, and possibly hope technology improves to help with his heart issues.

Yep, it's truly incredible the rate that medical advances happen. Do you collect any military stuff mac or you just found this interesting?

Re VD: A British soldier who went in on D-Day recounted how he was given condoms as part of his essential "invasion kit". He said something like "I'd been to Africa, I'd invaded Italy, for neither of them were we given condoms, I think that says something about France!!"

Yes Hank I do collect Vintage posters (only originals) and Horse Racing memorabilia.

I never knew there were so many.
The only 3 I knew of were; Walls have Ears. Loose talk costs Lives. Dig for Victory. From books btw as, despite some innuendo from you Mac, I wasn't born then. ![]() |

Arguably, the most famous WWII poster/photo. So good, they made a movie about the guys that raised the Flag.
