Never heard of the **** until this weekend. First impression - the name - Stormzy. Sounds like a creation of Chris Morris, a character that Nathan Barley would have been down with. Then the music, possibly the most obvious, stalest, most risible, cliche ridden set of stock rhymes I could ever imagine. About as edgy and anti -establishment as my Aunt Winnie.

Then again, given that, would it be too much of a stretch to say that someone who has only released ONE album (of him talking over a drum machine) and whose highest single position in our ridiculous charts now is just six, might have been made HEADLINER of a major festival more due to a "#Very2019VirtueSignal" to a certain type of right on middle class audience than due to reasons that are not just about music? Given that's what his performance has been totally wrapped up in and shouted about and the current luvvie obsession with "diversity", it's not exactly a stretch.

Also he's not the first black artist (despite all the "progressive" hype) to headline Glastonbury as Skunk Anansie did it 20 years ago!

LOLOLOL. The notion that there is a global interest in this herbert is laughable. He is virtually unknown outside of the UK, and his profile here is ludicrously exaggerated. He is in essence a media creation, because he fits a narrative and agenda they feel compelled to support and publicise. The citizens of French Lick, Indiana and elsewhere have far better things to do of a day than pay any attention to Stormzy's tedious pronouncements.

That's true. Days later we are still splitting our sides laughing at his drivel, and cringing at the thought of all those nice white "progressive" lefty middle-class sorts in a field (and at home) PRETENDING they like Stormzy and his unlistenable "songs".  They would probably cross the road to avoid him and other "Grime" artistes in normal life. And yes, I realise I'm dignifying them far too much by referring to them as "artistes".

What message is he getting across? Answering that one shouldn't be too difficult bearing in mind MUSIC is his platform you'd think the message he sends out would be in his MUSIC,especially if he is making a social or political stand which you seem to think he is but can't provide any positive evidence.

FWIW Stormzy is blaming EVERYTHING BUT the bruvvers and knives for the problems the reason being he can't blame those who buy his music and have given him this life in fact he's milking it all for as much as he can get.
