Surprised nobody has put this one up...maybe it has be taken down?

In my opinion, the British Taxpayer has already paid sufficient for Venable's protection.

He can sort this one out on his own.

Perhaps he should think on why he needs protection???

If he were to go abroad his identity could no longer be protected?

British law would not apply in other countries.

I cannot forgive what he did myself, even if he was only 10.

Trouble is, this is the same argument paedophiles make when they say 10-year-olds can consent to sex. 10-year-olds should be lynched for murder. What's the difference?

Dealing with child murderers is hard. It always has been. Handing them over to vigilante mobs cannot be the answer.

That has not happened has it Ramruma

Jon Venables identity is protected by law in this country.

If he goes abroad that may not be so.

I have admitted I have still not forgiven what he did, but I am not asking for him to be handed over to a lynch mob.

I assume you think Ramruma that at 10 he had no responsibility for his actions? I think he did have some.

Neither was he persuaded by an adult which is often the case with paedophiles.

New Zealand have said they will not accept him

Other ideas were Australia or Canada...the reason is costShocked

It may be cheaper keeping his identity secret out there than here

Although tax payers would still have to fund his relocation

Jon Venables should have spent 8 years in prison, then been sentenced to death on hes 18th birthday..
no arguments, look into the eyes of the baby he killed and tell me otherwise..

This case literally reduces me to tears, imagine if Jamie Bulger was your son. I just know that I would seek retribution on the 2 people who murdered him.

What we aren't hearing about is that Venables has all the character traits of a Psychosexual killer which is pretty much in you from childhood and will never be cured.
He would be a heavy odds on shot to commit psychosexual crimes and likely murder again and the reality for this type of person is without a medical intervention these traits will be there for life so he'll be a danger forever.

@SlippyBlue -- yes, of course you would want revenge if your child were murdered. That is only natural. But that is also why we have a criminal justice system, so we don't just descend into a cycle of vengeance.

The complicating factor here is that the killers were also children.
By:

if you want to go down that route; they were 5 times the age of their victim, so no complication, they were streetwise urchins with a blood lust. Hardly the innocent 10 yr old  angels that some would like to put forward

But as long as there's more money to be earned by defending criminals as oppose to defending the victims, then the Lawyers and Barristers will make sure nothing changes, they are all parasites who have a lust for money and couldn't give a feck about the victims

The complicating factor here is that the killers were also children. Ramrumma

That is true Ramrumma

Unfortunately their crime of murdering a 2 year old toddler was not the crime of the average 10 year old

10 years olds steal, vandalise, are frequently absent, generally a complete nuisance...but they do not generally commit murder
Do you know any other 10 year olds in our society who commit murder?

So what we had was an adults crime but child criminals...it created some impossible problems for us
We tried to compromise, whether that was satisfactory, people make their own choice

I think we have been reasonably fair to Venables. We are obliged by law to protect his identity.

He wants us know to place him abroad? Hmmm?? I am not sure it would help him myself, he may stand out more?

I am not asking us to hand over to vigilantes, but I am happy for him to keep one eye over his shoulder for some time to come.

If he wants to go abroad

He can spebd his life lookinbg his shoulder as far as I am concerned. I think that is just.

The killers should have been destroyed ; rarely do you find evil like that , not even in the chthonian depths of organised crime .

Robert Thomson....have not heard anything

He was also given a new identity protected by law.

I assume he is keeping his head down? as Venables should be.

As long as there are people alive who remember the murder of Jamie Bolger

I would doubt either of two will be forgiven...this is part of their punishment, they have to learn to live with it.

If Venables wants to go abroad...how about Syria plenty of murders and murderers there. He should not feel out of place.

It probably doesn't and is just made up. I doubt anyone involved at the level these discussions would be had at would be the kind of person who contacts the Daily Star to become their "insider". I can't imagine there is much chance any English speaking country would be granting a visa to a convicted murder and paedophile.

This was really what I was getting at.

All these things people "call for" or "berate" about are just unproven stuff by the pigs and vultures!

Specially designed to annoy people and sell advertising.

The real horror of Venables now is that because he has identity protection children are put at risk.
Who knows where he is living and what access to kids he has.
As regards moving abroad, if true, no country would willingly take him.

I thought he was back in prison, which is where he should stay imo.

On the basis that the parole board got it wrong twice and I don't think he should ever be released.

From wiki:

On 23 November 2017, it was reported that Venables had again been recalled to prison for possession of child abuse imagery. The Ministry of Justice declined to comment on the reports.[123] On 5 January 2018, Venables was charged with unspecified offences relating to indecent images of children.[124]

On 7 February 2018, Venables pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images of children for a second time. He pleaded guilty via video link to three charges of making indecent images of children and one of possessing a paedophile manual. He admitted being in possession of 392 category A, 148 category B, and 630 category C child pornography images, and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison. The parole board will decide whether to release him at the end of his sentence
