Why doesn't a plane that's flying not ever leave the ball?
Why doesn't the plane ever bang into a country from above? wouldn't it hit the ocean above or below? |
|
By:
^ well they can glide but eventually they will come to ground without flapping their wings using their energy against
the gravitational pull |

Are you off to Ascot next week Terry?
I'm going two days this year, but has F-All to do with gravity. Are you going Terry? |
|
By:
Can't explain it so change the subject
Nice ![]() |

The plane is attracted to the center of Earth (or ball for 5-8 year olds). It does not have enough power to leave Earth (the ball) |
|
By:
But it has enough power to get off the ground?
The further up you go the less gravity takes effect? |
|
By:
to paraphrase python : stop this, it's silly. very silly.

As explained already Water does follow the rules of gravity. It flows down- I.e. Towards the center of Earth. |

Answering Terry is hardly changing the subject- it is politeness to answer questions. Maybe you & Terry should try it. |
|
By:
Water does follow the rules of gravity. It flows down- I.e. Towards the center of Earth.
So you admit water does flow downwards? how come it doesn't flow downwards on a curvature then? |
|
By:
How come Austrailia isn't under water? if water flows downwards?
|

Terry
I believe workers in UK are entitled to holiday, if you are not bothered about flat racing just say so. Don't give the BS about work. I answered your question- you should try answering some Terry |
|
By:
There is no side, top or bottom. Wherever you are, gravity pulls from the earth's centre.
In the UK, we are no more "further up" a curve than Japan, Indonesia or Australia. |

So you admit water does flow downwards? how come it doesn't flow downwards on a curvature then? Water does flow "downwards on a curvature " Down is towards center of Earth (I.e. With gravity) up is away from Earth (I.e. Against gravity) As already mentioned 5 to 8 year olds can understand this concept. It is because of gravity that water remains on Earth. |

Mexico your embarrassing yourself let it go .

By:
Conditor
Just a suggestion but when you claim somebody is "embarrassing themselves " or have no brains, it might be an idea to know when to use the word "your" & when to use the word "their". Just an option so feel free to ignore. If you believe the Earth is flat then so be it. I can assure you that I would never claim that "your embarrassing yourself " when replying to one of your posts. |

On windy days I see sheets of paper flying about all over the place. If the earth is flat, why doesn't it flip over in a gale?

![]() ![]() Mexico So there's two sets of gravity now? gravity on its own isn't winning an argument, so we'll create another gravitational pull that pulls against the other gravitational pull? Locking everything in place? should we be imploding under all this gravitational pull? the earth spins at a 1000mph but somehow all this water stays inside this ball despite their being a curvature? Get a blender and leave the lid off.... |
|
By:
The matrix bud for you alien chaps, each to thier own,
|
|
By:
so we'll create another gravitational pull that pulls against the other gravitational pull?
Both pulling against each other is the argument here? Shouldn't that rip this earth apart? two massive forces pulling against one another will ultimately rip this earth in two? |
|
By:
Wtf
Sont I really haven't got a clue what you are on about with two sets of gravity. Every object exerts a force (called gravity) on every other object. As the Earth is massive compared to a plane, water etc. then we only really need to consider the gravity of Earth. What are these 2 sets you are on about? Just use one (the Earth). |
|

Is my stomach flat or round? Well I can balance a pint of lager and a packet of crisps on it when watching the telly and it doesn't fall off, so I can only assume I'm freakin RIPPED.
|
|
By:
There is a simple answer to the original question that was the title of the thread: So... Is the Earth flat or round ? No.
|
|
By:
Its the initial joke taken to far scenario
![]() ![]() Basically the lie has had to be added to with more bull****, thus creating an unexplainable pile of horse manure two sets of gravitational pull pulling against each other, earth spinning at a 1000mph, whilst circling the sun at million mph, falling through a void at these speeds to boot Amazing stuff really |

Down is towards center of Earth (I.e. With gravity) up is away from Earth (I.e. Against gravity) You're implying there's two sets of gravitational pull, one with and one against? |
|
By:
Also implying theres two separate earths within the earth
"up is away from earth" |
|
By:
Sont
Have not got a clue what planet you are on . What are these 2 sets of gravity? Most of the Earth will be spinning at greater than 100mph , the bits near the poles won't be moving much, those nearest the equator will be faster. |
|
By:
Errrrr
What is strange about a definition of "up" as being away from Earth (I.e. Against gravity) ??? |
|
By:
You are saying down is towards the center, up is away from earth, one with gravity and one against gravity, thus saying there's two sets of graviational pull?
Up being away from earth implies its not on earth but away from it? |
|
By:
100 mph ? A little bit more bud
|
|
By:
No Sont
As mentioned earlier, just define "up" as against gravity & "down" as with gravity. Water flows "down" - I.e. Towards center of Earth. |
|
By:
At believe it or not set at 23 degrees.
|
|
By:
Sont
Even in your BS flat Earth . If you fly 100km "up" you are going away from Earth. Same as in the correct round Earth planet. |
|
By:
So two sets of gravitational pulls?
There's the main gravity? then there's one pulling again and one pulling with Shouldn't that rip this earth apart? We are on earth until we enter space? |
|
By:
WTF
Are you on about with your 2 gravity story. There are loads of forces acting on Earth, The Earth is pretty big so will take a bit of work to rip apart. Remember Down is towards center of Earth, up is away. Then all your non-existent Earth problem go away. |
