How splendid that a group of young men can have a 'gay time together' and the author can wake up 'feeling gay' without there being anything untoward going on.

When I was a kid and heard The Village peeps singing YMCA, In the navy ,etc,
I had absolutely no idea the group were gay , I didn't know what gay meant.
I knew what puff meant and **** , but the word gay just meant happy to me .
I recall watching top of the pops when I was
about 11 and a slightly older friend with a look of disdain on his ignorant
little face , said ' Gay Ba£Tards' . I pretended I knew what he meant
but I didn't .

I found out years later he was living with his male lover in Wales
It's A Strange old world and most of us here blOOdy know it .
