I am not a racist myself, but maybe wish at times those who have come from abroad try to conform to our values a little harder
To be fair the French and German Kings and Queens of this country did start speaking English. The French after about 200 years and the Germans considerably less! |

"im not a racist myself"
None of us are buddy, its just a means to shut people up |
|

Ah well..the Normans considered themselves a cut above us Anglo Saxons...they saw no reason not to speak French
The Plantagenets also French, perhaps considered themselves more French than English... although they was quite happy to uses our longbowmen to try establish their rule over Britain and France. The Black Death killed the French language idea, not enough French speakers survived, so even the high and mighty had to learn English |

I see Terry

You did get me a warning.
Well it didn't have much effect judging by your accusation of racism towards lfc here. Why are you so confident posting stuff you know has got another banned? |
|
By:
I won't answer that, because unlike you I can't get away with calling someone a racist on here.
|
|
By:
Hopefully lfc will return. The forum has lost too many decent posters recently.
He had his opinions, stood by them despite the abuse they attracted and he was never abusive in return. |

Come back lfc!!!!

I disagreed with him 95% of the time and boy could he go on,and on,and ......
But he was normally quite affable and did make me laugh at times so I would like to see him back as well. |
|
By:
He held some forthright views that were disturbing.
Yes like making your own way in life and not depending on the state to keep you. Yes very forthright that, no wonder the left don't like him. By the way are you fixed up yet Whisper? No excuse now, employment is at record levels under the Tories. |

Like I said...every village needs one!

Then why not apply? You're very qualified for it.
|
|
By:
Pointless!
They have you inked in! Your only rival lfc has retired! Good night! |
|
By:
That's a shame. I'm sure most people on here would have put in a good word for you.
|
|
By:
lfc was too clever for the likes of WD.
|
|
By:
It is liked being savaged by sheep with you two simpletons!
I fear writing anymore lest I get done by the League against cruelty to Jackasses! Goodnight! |
|
By:
Has he gone for a very long walk to smell lots of flowers?
|
|
By:
Like not liked.
|

You could see he'd have a great life 200 years ago or whenever the British empire was at its prime. But where the fec is he?
|
|
By:
I'd say he's simply found something more interesting to do.
There must come a point when you get tired of arguing with people you don't like, and who only come on here in order to take a pop at you over your beliefs. Although lfc could certainly look after himself in that respect. |

He had some twisted beliefs and opinions, who could deny that?
He once told me the Iraqis should be thankful that America invaded them(because he claimed America had a great record putting countries on the right track by invading them). He hated Russians but after the Novichok incident I realized that was nearly a national sport in England. He once claimed no country had produced as many greatest sportsmen in their sport as britain(on the Andy Murray greatest ever British sportsman thread). Had a tough time explaining that one. The closest he got I think was Higgins in snooker and Hamilton in F1. But he always had an explanation for whatever he said, however twisted. The problem was the explanations usually ended with Now that's how I am, now that's how things work, now that's easy to understand, now you would realize that if you think, look closely and you will see, etc etc. topping it all off with who could deny that? I will admit I have used his two statements '...who could deny that?' and 'everything's possible, I read it somewhere' often in my daily life. |

Were lfc posting he'd revel in commenting on the current political events.

|

That's not so hard to understand, is it?
|
|

still waiting for your chewing gum thread though.

It would have to incorporate bubble gum as well, there's only so much I could say about chewing gum.

The legend is back.

By:
:) no detraveller I’m not back , but it’s been fun , and interesting , to read some of the comments
will look in from time I’m sure |
|
By:
But if you are posting it means you are back? Who could deny that?
It's really simple if you think. If you weren't back, how could you be posting? Your post is a direct consequence of your comeback. So you not being back and posting don't go well with each other. Don't confuse one with the other. |
