SNP are the last centre left party standing. if only the english could vote.
well they can in edinburgh, aberdeen, perthshire & the highlands. thousands
of them up in them parts. all very welcome.

Constantly say this but the SNP TALK LEFT but WALK RIGHT.

TALK LEFT - Constantly berating the Tory policies for creating austerity.
WALK RIGHT - Run with the same Tory policies despite having the devolved powers to change them.
One example - The restriction of child benefits to the first two children and the so-called rape clause. The SNP said the Tories should hang their heads in shame for this and brought it up constantly. Now they say they will run with it. Hypocrites.

The SNP are outstnading hypocrites, the amount of things they cry out about Brexit when the exact same could be charged against them for Scexit is quite incredible. They harp on about how Cameron giving the people of the UK a EU referendum was a stupid bad right wing thing to do that shouldn't have been given - THEN - demand a SECOND referendum for Scotland, ignoring the result of the first, when opinion polls say Scotland doesn't want one, and say to not have one is anti-democratic!

Want to swap London for Brussels. Remind me how this 'Independence' thing works?

Believe the EU will unconditionally accept the validity of Scotland as an independent nation.

Probably their best bit of pretzel logic is their notion of forming a 'progressive' (yuk!) alliance with the Greens, whilst at the same time banging the drum for an econmomy built almost exclusively on fossil fuels!

Exactly Hanx, their arguments are absolutely riddled with contradiction and things that don't make sense. Oh and another thing is their belief that everything they want to happen, re an Independent Scotland, will be just waved through by the EU and the UK. If there's anything the Brexit process shows it's that leaving unions is tricky and the other side damned well has opinions on it, and the UK has a far stronger hand leaving the EU than a small (but huge deficit) Scotland trying to tell the EU or UK how things must happen.

Got round to watching Politics Live JC. Coburn absolutely useless and as you say ill-informed.
Robertson quoting incorrect figures but she didn't have a clue.

The SNP are very complacent about their relationship with the rest of the UK should they get independence.
Their argument is that it is in both their interests to continue trading with each other which is fair comment.
However they completely ignore the fact that if they join the EU, and that's not certain given their debt to GDP ratio, that the EU will impose restrictions on trading.

Once the N Sea oil has gone their only exportable goods will be sugary confectioneries.

Lee's, Lee's, more if you please.
All of us beg on our bended knees.
For piccaninnies and grandpapas,
It's Lee's for luscious macaroon bars.

I think they'll need to get a better lyricist.

I'm partial to a macaroon, I shall perhaps attempt composing an ode to said confectionery in the morning.

I remember that being sung. Wasn't seen as offensive then.
How times change but fortunately a Lees Macaroon bar still every bit as good.
Going to get a bar tomorrow along with a Lees Raspberry Coconut-Ice.

It's late, I shall perhaps look into the context of that verse in the morning before composing my own superior version.
