From my house down into town there’s a road with a couple of chicanes. The chicanes are there to slow traffic down as it is a straight road and of course people have been driving too fast going downhill. Tbf easily done to some extent. Now very often going into town the traffic queues and going the other way it is less busy. It gets on my chest when coming back and there’s a long line of traffic coming the other way people will come into the chicane thus necessitating approaching traffic having to fiddle through, rather than hold back. I mean you are not going anywhere fast just show a bit of courtesy. Ffs.
If everyone lets one person out keeps it calmer ,worstest driving up here in northern uk is from the imported mini cab drivers from the sarff of uk ,foreign ones .Seen many a private higher driver being given a lesson in civil manners roadside by the natives ,it’s nice to be nice imo .

Where letting one driver out becomes problematic is when they proceed to let one out but being weak and preventing an entire side street establishing priority at a junction ,this is bad .

I see ridiculous 'politeness' where people try to let cars out across two lanes of traffic without understanding that cars in the other lane are travelling at high speed.

.."imported mini cab drivers"... Anyone visited their homeland? Drive on the wrong side of their motorway as if it's normal practice; overtake just before a bend. Yet to see one driving with correct usage of indicators, road position and/or lane discipline here. They also behave as if they have done the knowledge like black cabbies eg pulling up suddenly obstructing immediate vehicles behind; badly parked in a supermarket bay straddling another - 20 mins later he was still there - shopping!

I hate it when people block junctions when you re trying to turn right off a main road.the seethometer rises when they refuse to make eye contact, what’s wrong with a mouthed apology to acknowledge they’ve ****** up.

I think it's not a bad idea to legally introduced a refresher course every 5 years; below a certain standard for a given number of times a re-test could be the result as I believe some imported drivers are not kosher and/or competent.

if a driver is turning right against the flow of traffic (often at traffic lights) ... can you please position yourself centre spot and enable cars to pass
my only beef on the roads is .... if a driver is turning right against the flow of traffic (often at traffic lights) ... can you please position yourself centre spot and enable cars to pass
On a slight tangent, on Sunday I noticed a fire engine approaching behind me on blues and twos on a single carriageway road. I mounted the pavement and granted said fire engine sufficient space to allow him to pass. The Transit van in front of me stalled whilst trying to get on to the kerb, blocking the fire engine for a good 30 seconds while the incompetent driver tried to get it restarted.
Less than 400m further up the road, said fire engine on blues and twos was forced to come to a screeching halt, depositing some of its water onto the road surface in the process, as a father and his son walked out into the middle of the road on their bikes in front of them. I sh1t you not.
WTF is wrong with people?!?
