By constantly referring to Stephen Lawrence to exclusion of all other such murders the media give the impression that racism is a one way street.

I would hazard a guess that 90%+ of racist crimes are perpetrated by white folk . That said , 100% of racist crime should not be tolerated at any level .

Sort of understand the cctv because the local nutters kept vandalising the Plaque..  Seem to remember plenty of flags and flowers very close to Lee Rigbys murder scene.. Really should be something official though.. |

The Stephen Lawrence murder became as big a story as it did because the killers were not convicted despite masses of evidence against them. This was seen as due to racism in the police. Although it could have been corruption, and, with Met detectives, my money would always be on incompetence.
As aaronh says, there have been equally bad racist murders of black people - in terms of the purely racist motive and level of violence - that no one ever mentions, because the killers were swiftly caught and brought to justice. |

most street robberies are racist .. black on white/asian ... when someone who is white is killed by a non white... its not cited as racist and there have been plenty...whys that? .. OJ was innocent

saw a story about the family of Lee Rigby (or mum at least?) in danger of losing their house recently, but since there was no black man to complain about who was getting more attention instead it mustn't have been worth bringing up
