Pretending to be offended just drags you down to the level of the people you seem to despise.

BTW - My "joke" was snow-fake - more of a play on words than a "joke".

You are right it wasn't that funny - but it was the first time I posted it, so I can only assume it went over your head anyway.

LOL - a thread for snow-flakes to feign that they have been offended by a SNOW-flake.

..the reason this is the most ironic and feckin hilarious thread - is because it's a thread for snowfakes to complain about ..... er snowflakes.

Tell us more about your economic theory that the way to grow an economy is to have state owned companies paying lots of middle management large salaries to do nothing at all useful.

31 March - Snowflake
01 April - Snowfake

Not terribly funny "jokes" just a bit of irony and then some word play - -but not the same "joke".

TM, my guess here is that no one is actually offended, more peed off.
It is a rather strange thing for him to have said.
When he scans a group of people does he grade it for ethnic diversity?
And if it doesn’t tick his box he concludes there is something wrong somewhere?
Was he equating a large number of white faces being rascists?
Only he can say.
Of course he won’t conclude that he was being rascist.

I’m not offended but I am irritated by it.

Fair play to you Racing Cert - it is indeed mildly irritating.

Just think you would have to be a bit of nutter (or a snowfake) to see it as anything more than exactly that - mildly irritating. The people that think he needs to be sacked because he is part of a "MSM" conspiracy need to stop watching C4 news. Stick with the Express, Mail, Sun, etc.

You know what you are gonna get from C4 News just as you know what you are gonna get from 90% of Tabloids. If I posted every-time something mildly irritated me in the news I would have the same number of posts as Just Checking.

LOL, TM. Quite.
Sacked? Certainly not.
The C4 diversity training needs a complete revamp though.

Don't want him sacked - just to face the similar kind of Twitterati mob (mock) outrage another commentator would get if expressing the same opinion about black people.

Anyone saying the same abut black people would have been sacked without doubt. I wouldn't agree with that, but it's the double standards that stink.

It's mission creep. Sack the racists who say anything about blacks and exonerate those who are racist towards whites.

John Pienaar the BBC political journo is someone I used to like. That was until he started to ask MPs if the House of Commons was 'too white'. Of course they all said 'yes'.

Tick tock..

Hanx - I know the expression fight fire with fire - but I don't think it works with mock outrage.

Maybe a never ending loop of David Lammy arguing with Richard Littlejohn?
By:

lol - wasn't sure whether to go with Littlejohn or Hartley-Brewer for my favourite right leaning snowfake.

Now I see that 2025 people complained to Ofcom and Julia Hartley-Brewer has tweeted how "unbelievably shocking" it is.

Injera, perhaps that question from Piennar was loaded.
The MPs had to answer yes, otherwise they would be deemed racist.
I think I still am a JP fan, just because he asked that question doesn’t make him an apologist for being white.

"It is not simply an objective recognition that an individual or a group of individuals has white skin. If it were, we might have expected Snow to have said ‘wow, so many white people’ many times before in his life and career. That he only said it on Friday suggests ‘white people’ is more of a morally loaded phrase than a neutral observation. ‘White people’ in this context is a pejorative. Snow was implicitly, at least, distancing himself from these people. His mention of their race was an attempt to treat them as ‘others’, distinct from him and the kind of white people he mixes with."

worth a read...

For those that need this explained to them (and sadly it apparently does need explained) the reason this is the most ironic and feckin hilarious thread - is because it's a thread for snowfakes to complain about ..... er snowflakes.

I interpreted this thread as an example of how snowflakes sense of outrage can be turned on its head . In other words , we can all feign offence at the slightest of things .

Diane Abacus recently objected to a fellow MP using the word 'coloured' rather than 'black' when referring to a non-white person .
There was no offence intended and yet offence was claimed on behalf of the third party . Mr Snow clearly intended to highlight something that would support a perceived narrative .

LOL Akabula - I know you like to muddy the waters but you've kind of fecked it up this time. The post of mine (13:55 on this thread) that you have highlighted to imply that you think I am SF is actually a copy and paste p!ss take from a post that Just Checking made at 13:25 on this very thread. 1) I don't think JC will be impressed that you think he and I are the same poster.
2) JC and I have never agreed on anything - although we were once united on the fact that Dr C lives under a bridge.
3) It's kinda shallow and just a bit arrogant to assume that every poster that disagrees with you must be the same person. There just might be a few of us!

I had a post on here removed because I used the word coloured instead of black.  No offence was intended and yet offence was claimed in similar style.  Had no idea it was considered offensive to anyone.  Anyhow, I've made a point of not using the word again and I've forgotten who the snowflake was who mentioned it.

Perhaps it is offensive to call a white person pale skinned now?  I've no idea.

It's more a generational thing, people who say the term coloured are from a certain generation where that was common place, I was watching an old Interview recently of Muhammed Ali where the presenter kept referring to him and black people as n3gro's, he did not take offence but prefered the term black, nowadays both terms are neither liked, accepted or appreciated by black people or society in general, however the N word is far more unacceptable.

Remember Alan Hansen said the term coloured 2 or 3 times on MOTD and didn't flinch an inch, it didn't even register in his mind it was not acceptable in modern times, same as Amber Rudd, old habits die hard.

Who decides when something becomes either acceptable or unacceptable ? Do they have a referendum and if so who exactly gets to vote ?
I think that every effort should be made to inform every member of the public either by e-mail or maybe billboards or adverts on TV during peak viewing times so that those who may inadverdantly find themselves falling foul of these new laws are given every opportunity to absorb these changes .
