Assault in any form is a serious matter so less of the yolks please.

By:
I had to laugh that the egg thrower was charged with "assault by beating".
And now he's been whisked away. |

No time for jokes. It left corbyn with serious shell shock.

By:
Yes the Yolk was on him
By:
Eggs of course are "binding" and help cure diarrhea.
So I think it's quite logical to apply them to someone who has a dose of the "Trots" . |
By:
Sentence is in the backdrop of abuse against MPs because of the BREXIT shambles. We should also remember Jo Cox. I think the sentence is fair enough given the backdrop myself

Most people hit with eggs lash out in retaliation. Not Corbyn, he chickened out.

I think Jeremy approves of violent actions.
Never heard him condemning them. |

@lfc1971 -- Does anyone know why he was jailed ?
Throwing eggs at politicians is almost a tradition. Sir Alec Douglas-Home famously caught one without breaking the shell, as befits the only Prime Minister who played first class cricket. On the subject of sporting politicians, another egg-thrower was forcefully reminded that John Prescott had been an amateur boxer. However, Corbyn's assailant did not throw his egg. Rather, he went right up to Corbyn (from behind) and smashed it against his head. He was jailed for punching a 70-year-old man while holding an egg. As @CLYDEBANK29 says, the background of Jo Cox's murder and ongoing threats against MPs probably added a couple of weeks. |

By:
Thanks ramruma he shouldn’t have done it doubtless
But he didn’t punch Corbyn He broke an egg on his head He’s a political prisoner |
By:
Now imo throwing an egg is more dangerous , and he may have missed
By:
every remainer deserves it
By:
They’ve put the wrong man in prison
By:
Should anyone found in possession of an egg face an automatic 6 months imprisonment ? Suitable deterrent ,surely ?

By:
It's not the eggs behind it though, it's the chickens laying the eggs that are the real source of the problem.
But what happens if you steal or kill a chicken? You get a poultry sentence. |
By:
28 days is longer than the use by date on the Eggs.
By:
Corbyn had an afried look on his face and subsequently had to be coddled by one of his female acolytes
By:
I think 30 days in jail is a bit harsh!
The boy who egged the racist Aussie scum MP was a hero imho! Politicians do need egging atm but obviously you are going to give someone a slap if they did it to you but politicians cant so they must be protected by either heavy fines, suspended sentences or even incarceration for continued offences / violent confrontations. Egg boy was funny, relatively non violent certainly after he egged the chunt. I didn't see what happened to Corbyn. |
By:
If people use eggs in 'an attack' then we're cushty I reckon. Judge should have used some common sense. Two bob to do such a thing but c'mon..
It's not the 14 days he will serve, it's the employment prospects that will suffer therefore benefits etc. Once again WE pay over and above. |
By:
How long would he have got if it had been an Ostrich egg?
By:
He`ll be out by Easter.
By:
Hope he got a good photo of the incident for the albumen.
By:
Actually what happened - Lets see if any facts get in the way of the indignation -
Was that the bloke actually punched Corbyn, he physically stuck him, but had an egg in his hand. He punched Corbyn quite hard. He didn't just turn up randomly throwing an egg in his general direction. |
