I've only seen it on video but know people who have travelled to Iceland to see it. Can be a very cold and unpleasant wait.

Travelled to Iceland!  In 2000 I saw it in Essex.

There used to be a site called "Aurora Watch" don't know if it still exists. It monitored solar activity and gave predictions. A waste of time for me as I never saw one.
