Sorry crystal,

Not funny. I haven't seen what is going on. I have been to Utrecht a couple of times, nice place. I am glad your family are ok and hope they recover from the shock and sadness.

"He was arrested because of his connections with [IS] but released later," the businessman told the BBC.

So not under the Radar at all ,another maniac set free in a peaceful Community

Crystal I live 5 miles from Utrecht
It has all calmed down now. As I mentioned the suspect has been arrested. No facts confirmed as to the motive. Threat level has been dropped now and people going about their normal business.

Turkey’s state-run Anadolu news agency, quoting relatives of the gunman, said he had fired at a relative on the tram and had then shot at others who tried to help her. Domestic??

David Icke - thanks for that - it wasn't a good start for them even though they are impressed with the place. My granddaughter is following them out in the summer to do her Masters at Utrecht University.

Double edged. The tragedy of today then the fear and unease into the coming days. Very sad.

I wasn't keen going to London after the attacks. Even on trains I keep a watch. Shouldn't be like this..

Gambling debt is incorrect, the authorities here have confirmed the suspect is a known drug addict with a long criminal record, including attempted murder with a gun. He is due in court up on a rape charge of his ex who his sister-in-law knew. Witnesses in the tram are saying he shot her several times inside and outside the tram (she was shouting 'I haven't done anything') and people got caught in the crossfire. During the shooting he was shouting allahu akbar.

Interesting to see how the government goes with this.

The easiest part is to just blame media. But the truth is people are simply not smart enough. If people didn't believe the media, they would have stopped listening long time ago. But everyone still follows them for news. In fact I have a good laugh when I see people quoting BBC here when on a parallel thread the same people are whining about their reporting.

The whole point of the media is to lie(Why would you not when you have the resources to control such a large audience?). People buy some lies. and some they don't. Looks like people have digested everything they were told about this event.

This is a perfect example. The old nanny quotes a BBC reporter. The same BBC that gets so much crap on this forum.

But that's not the worst part. The worst part is that the BBC reporter himself quotes a 'local businessman' Laugh

Media is a joke alright. But the people listening aren't that smart either.

And you yourself were listening to the news. Why? Did you find out that the media were a joke only after listening to the news at ten? I am sure you will never listen to them again.

But the truth is you will, won't you? That's how everyone works. They rant and then they go back to the same media expecting the media to this time tell them the truth. Rinse and Repeat.

I don't quote them in support

They are hypocrisy ridden and contradicting beyond belief

One minute they are blaming brexit for job losses the next they are reporting how great the job numbers are Crazy
