I don't know, but surely every bloke has made twenty something at least?

Since 1982, there have only been 150 maximum breaks, an average of just over 4 a year, O'Sullivan the most with 15 and the fastest of 5 minutes 20 in 1997. Steve Davis with the first. Though really in the last 20 or so years it's probably more like an average of 10 a years with their being more tournaments and more pros at a higher standard, still shows how incredibly difficult it is to do, which makes witnessing one so special.

I looked at that five minute sullivan break yesterday, talk about cool as a cucumber. He made it look so easy why doesn't everybody do them Laugh
Report paulypaul • March 13, 2019 9:31 PM GMT
In practice, the top pros make 147s all the time.

18. 3 reds 3 blues. Couldn't even see the balls now unless I got some Dennis Taylor jobs.
Report akabula • March 13, 2019 10:27 PM GMT
I used to play every day. Hit in the 40s on a few occasions.
Report Crisp77 • March 13, 2019 10:27 PM GMT
Got a 69 at butlins
Report SlippyBlue • March 13, 2019 10:57 PM GMT
I got a few 50 breaks, my bro was a good player and he gave me a 25 handicap but I never beat him that often. I had the edge over him at pool though but I don't play much as my eyesight is not what it was.

Played in my club team for a few years, my highest break in a match was 53, beat my previous pb 48.
Tony Chappel was club member, and a pro circuit player at the time and I practiced regularly with him, must have played around 2 or 3 hundred frames with him?. He scored 3 x 147's against me. He used to give me 5 blacks start, and I still struggled to match him. I think I beat him twice, with something like 50 start.
Report Torquemada • March 13, 2019 11:22 PM GMT
We lost the cue ball once. I got a 147.

Talking of O Sullivan I have a losing betting slip for him to win the world championship by & inc 1999
Odds 100/1 Sad
Bet was put on I think in 92 or 93 missed drawing by two years Crazy

Was not a bad pool player but never got to grips with snooker, top break was a nine ball 19 Blush
Report lcredd • March 14, 2019 9:40 AM GMT
9 ball 19? Red, yellow, red, green ... Happy

Mine is around 20, maximum of 4 or 5 balls.

I have been playing for a few years, not very regularly, and see no improvement in my game at all.
I've watch many youtube videos but I'm getting worse if anything.
Respect to anyone who can string more than 5 balls together.
Report kincsem • March 14, 2019 10:23 AM GMT
8.  red, yellow, red, yellow ... hard to say if you have had a drink.
Amazingly I did pot all the colours on a half size table in practice, potting the black off its spot with the cueball in the jaws of the middle pocket.
Report kincsem • March 14, 2019 10:24 AM GMT
Ok, 6 then, I can't count. Sad

Report flapper • March 14, 2019 11:52 AM GMT
In the mid 30s and that would have been around 1992.  Can't see the blue from the D now over the specs so can't play.  I can just about manage a game of pool but guessing at the long shots.
Report Foinavon • March 14, 2019 12:17 PM GMT
I've potted red followed by black several times but never more than once in the same frame.
Report lcredd • March 14, 2019 2:22 PM GMT
Red, black, red, black is usually a frame winning break when I play Grin
Report Knight Commander • March 14, 2019 2:47 PM GMT
47 - 5 blacks and a pink.

Back when I used to play nearly every day. Have difficulty working out which cue ball to strike now Sad
Report STUDYFORM • March 14, 2019 4:47 PM GMT
35, the black wobbled in the jaws for 42 (or even more!!!)
A few other 30ish ones.
And I have cleared up the colours a couple of times
Report portmanpark • March 18, 2019 11:30 AM GMT
For me to pot red and black the both balls would need to be hanging over the pocket and then it would be no certainty.I am that bad.Being so bad I really appreciate the skill of the top players.
Report McCoy Carp • March 18, 2019 1:55 PM GMT
