Saw him run once, he turned up late & they had already run a lap but he still managed to get up on the line, the crowd went mad, we went to the local cafe after to celebrate with a mug of Bovril.

i ran the 2019 london marathon with alf tupper ,i hit the wall after 12 miles and alf carried me on his shoulders the last 14 miles and we were beaten a short head into second place we would have won if alf hadnt stopped for a slash in whitehall .

Times have moved on. There was a 7 year old who could outrun him on the tv the other day.

Got chucked out of greystone harriers
Could tickle trout for dinner
