I've just been for a swim .

I shall be swimming shortly on a regular basis.

Need to be able to beat my kids in a 50 metre race in Spain in summer.
They have not beat me yet .

I am 55 , son is 20 and daughter 28 and a triathlete.

Not a chance I could beat them over a distance longer than 50 metres.
They have stamina but I can do 50 metres without taking a breath .

Nice one , 626 .

sixtwosix , I'm made up with myself , for doing what i just did . It's a wonderful way to exercise . I'm gunna love being able to learn other swimming styles , other than the doggie paddle type thing , that i've just done .

Good stuff Culvin , what persuaded you to try it and why not sooner ?

Nice one Culvin. Far more rewarding than going for lessons.

Well done Culvin, that's a hell of an achievement!

Next time, ask if you can go in the big pool....

THANKS , sixtwosix , geoff m , and Lady Faye Verrit . In the past , 6two6 , i never had the confidence , i was afraid of the water . I remember visiting the swimming baths , as a boy with the school and it was a terrible experience . The water was freezing and the bleach  ,stung my eyes . I always thought it was a difficult thing to learn , so i never bothered .I'm made up i did it , and also , as quickly as i did .

What style Culvin?

Doggie

Ive just been out to buy some cigars , Dr , and i had a little gab with the lovely lady in the shop . I told her about my swim , and i showed her my style , and she said " Thats the breaststroke" and i immediately thought , i wouldn't half like to give your breasts a stroke . By the way , Doc , every morning , i wake up all sweaty , what do you think causes that .I'm not in any pain or anything , i'm just all sweaty , when i wake up . . By the way , i think it was a bit naughty to kill your wife , but i forgive you , although next time , just leave her , although obviously , there won't unfortunately be a next time for you . THANKS , Doc .

It was the t1tty stroke , mouse .

Ok, you did say doggie before.

When i'm in France in the summer , i hope to be doin that all the time , with the frency girlies .

They like it like that.

Yes , you're correct , mouse . The girl in the shop though , told me it was the breaststroke .I like the idea of doin a bit of doggie .

You might need a bit more practice before your vacances d'amour.

Hey , mouse , aren't those frenchy women , lovely . Bloody hell , i'm gunna feel like a fat kid , in a sweetshop , when i'm over there .

Indeed, and none more so than Audrey Tautou.

I used to go out with a girl who was half-French. She only had hair under one armpit.

I'll check her out on the google , now .

That was funny , Johhny . Hey , maybe , we can be friends , now hey ?

OH MY WORD , MOUSE .Yes , yes , yes , and 3 times tomorrow . Bloody lovely .

Culvin....where are you getting the money for these trips ?

...as you seem to be unemployed.

I saved up almost £15 grand , the last 3 years , Leopard . Money won on here , and through match betting . You're mate , craggy won't believe that , but that's the truth .

There is an good size outdoor lido not far from me in Brockwell Park, a mate of mine does yoga classes a couple of times a week in the attached gym and she says there are always a few people swimming in the mornings (including today)where the temperature was below zero! I do like swimming but I think I'll pass on that one personally

Nobody wins on BF....that's the law !

Another thing , Leopard , whenever i go on a little trip , i keep my cost's down , by not staying in hotels . I take my tent with me . I don't stay in campsite's . I pitch my tent , wherever i want , and wherever i feel safe . I unknowingly , once slept in a graveyard in Dublin . When i go to France , my tent will be coming with me . .

Admirable from a budget eco-travelling pov, but you may have to lower your sights a bit lower than Audrey wrt the calibre of saucy french bird which you wish to pull.

mouse , mate , how gorgeous is she .  "The juices from her beauty , drip into my mouth"

Hides under a little rock called the giant's causeway. His name is Finn.

Mouse , PLEASE post another pic of her , here .

Was that in the dead centre of Dublin  CUlvin.?

Good for you with the wild camping Culvin .
Done it a few times myself. Whilst walking The Ridgeway and cycling in Scotland.

Whilst its illegal in  England(unless you get landowners permission) as you probably know its permitted in Scotland.

As long as you leave it as you found it canna see a problem.

ericster , I was in the same boat , as you , 3 days ago .

casemoney ,I think i was able to do what i did , because i ignored my thoughts and my fear , and i just went with my instinct . I felt almost like a baby . A baby , i'm sure you know , can be placed in water , and that babe will instinctly swim . It wasn't easy , i was afraid , but as i said , i ignored fear and i just went for it .

geoff m , Yes , i did it myself in bonnie Scotland , two years ago . Actually , i tried to do it there , but the laird of the land , told me to get lost , when i tried to pitch my tent in Loch Lomond .

Yes CUlvin .I think Lomond is one of the places they where trying to restrict due to the carnage/mess left behind by wild campers.

Unfortunately a few spoil if for the majority as usual.

Go wild camping to enjoy  our glorious countyside then trash it leaving /rubbish/plast/barbecues etc behind.

The place they have gone to enjoy they then chose to ruin.

I just dont get it.

Idle selfish b@stards.

I camped @ the side of Loch Carron up in the Highlands about 4 miles away from nearest farmhouse/civilisation.
But had a visit in the night from what i can only guess where Deer.
Anyway wasnt  opening the tent as the midges would have had me as a midnight feast
So used an old camping trick of a balloon blown up and burst  they soon cleared off. Sounded like a stampede.

Geoff I know exactly what you mean about the midges, they are viciously relentless around the Lochs/Highlands.

the laird of the land , told me to get lost , when i tried to pitch my tent in Loch Lomond .
Did you a favour Culvin, you could have drowned.

Well Done Culvim I wish I could do it , Mind you I would have to go a swimming 1st Must be over 40 years

geoff you are right but it wasn`t actually the tourists/visitors to Loch Lomond who created such a mess with their rubbish, it was groups of local plebs who went binge drinking there at the weekends during the summer. Ruined it for all the decent visitors.

Whenever , i'm in a place like Loch Lomond , i'm the type who visitor , who not only collects all my own rubbish , i also often , pick up any other rubbish , i see around me . I detest litter .

"SHIVER ME TIMBERS" , Just look at her . Thanks to mouse , for the introduction .

Audrey Tatou , is her name , i think .

^ Tautou

Yeah....she invented Tattoos....y'know !

She is absolutely beautiful

Just getting ready to go out for another little swim .I haven't been back since i went last week . The Voliar Gym opens at 6.30 , it takes me 20 mins , to get there .

We're not all the same in water, and this is to do with buoyancy.

Black people don't usually make good swimmers, yet they usually have the edge on whites when it comes to other sports.
This is all to do with their body mass, which impacts negatively on their buoyancy.

Some people are exceptionally buoyant, and it's these types who soon learn to swim and make the best swimmers.

He is deffo a real Dr imo

I knows it.

He also made the discovery that dwarfs don't make good high-jumpers.

I would assume Broadmoor doesn't have a pool.

Eh ,GEESUSS , Don't let the cat out the bag . It was you , who helped me to escape from that place , remember .  . Thanks again , GEESUSS , I'll never forget you , you crazy basTarD .

Dr Crippen , I appreciate that info . I found out this morning that I'm as buoyant , as a cork .

Wait a minute !

Your last post was at 6.11am and you say:  " I found out this morning that I'm as buoyant , as a cork "

but you said before the pool at the Voliar Gym opens at 6.30am.

You jumped in the Mersey ?

I found that out yesterday , that's what i meant to say , Leopard . Are , you still playing this game of thinking , I'm a fraud . It's not an interesting or fun game . I don't know why you play it . Go and play Snake and Ladders or Hopscotch or , something . The Culvin is A Fraud game , is rubbish . Only you and crags played it , you boring buGGers .

Nothing of the sort Culvin....I think you are being pretty honest.....but if I see something that doesn't fit then I will have to pull you up on it

Why are you up so early everyday.....have you got some kind of sleep health problem ?

Crags tended to push things too far....but he has a good heart

Would our fellow chitchatter , the lovely Annie , agree that he's got a good heart ? .

Yes....I have stated before on the forum he went way too far baiting Annie....he was warned but didn't take notice....I think he wanted to get banned.....it's the only way to escape this place.
