Wordls busiest train station (tokyo) C5 looks interesting.

Can't BELIEVE they are allowed to push people on the trains like that.
Report johnizere January 28, 2019 7:10 PM GMT
Portillo's railway trips are great viewing.
Report Dr Crippen January 28, 2019 7:36 PM GMT
Talking about railway programmes I watched one presented by Chris Tarrant. I thought he's gone downhill since Millionaire.

I found out He suffered a stroke, 72 years of age he looks older than that. Must have taken a lot out of him.

I like these programmes as well, Portillo does a good job in this series.

Hey mo, my daughter now lives in Perivale, I have warned her to be on the 'lookout' for a fat, balding, geezer with a beer belly taking her fence! ShockedLaugh

"a fat, balding, geezer with a beer belly"
Saw him on tell. He was in the crowd at the chelsea game last night.

Laugh that'sLaugh 'our mo'. Oh noooooo, mo will now press his Platinum button and I'll be gone for good.

Hope you are well and winning JC, mo. Wink
Report Just Checking January 28, 2019 9:46 PM GMT
well and winning? I can't buy a win, everything I touch turns to sh1t. I was just looking at my recent betting losses and the world has never seen such a list of horrifying negative numbers since the germans reviewed the casualty figures after Stalingrad.
Report boxingthefox January 28, 2019 9:49 PM GMT
Sorry to hear that JC, as Tommy Doc would say......"it's always dark before it turns completely black". Laugh

Seriously, It can only get better Wink.

Perivale!!  The poor girl. Shows wot a dreadful father you are!!!  How could you do that to her

all the best.

And there's you living out in swampland.  Not too many natives around you there.

Laugh I have been travelling between the Midlands and London since August, caught up with family and loads of old friends, I'm offski, GN and GL.

I watched it...and I liked it Mr Eboue

Michael Portillo very colourful...I like seeing him.

The Canadian railways, the Canadian Pacific, very much like the United States railway the Union Pacific, drove

West across the country, from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

Interesting he said all the stations are seven miles apart. This distance allowed farmers to get their

wheat to the Railway Station and get back home again in one day. They only had horses of course.

As in the United States the native dwelling Indians suffered and lost their land and way of life.

The price of European progress

Yet another great BBC production. Excellent series.

the series ie very good and portilo has a human being is  ok , its only when he becomes a tory again like on this week i cant stand the bell
Report sageform January 29, 2019 8:33 AM GMT
Some interesting items on it but I cringe every time he turns up in another silly costume. I would love to hear the views of the Canadians who have had to humour him. Like 90% of BBC documentaries these days, it would be greatly improved if we didn't have the "celebrity" presenter as the central attraction. Give me just a voice over every time.
Report Jack Hacksaw January 29, 2019 10:45 AM GMT
De rigueur to have some usp these days if you are a presenter.

Antiques roadshow you have to drive round in an old sports car.
Idiot on Coast with his brolly.
Portillo's pastel jacket and trousers.
That Lucy bint can't stop wearing period costume.
Sarah Beeney and her norks.

You mean Tango Woman?
Report cooperman January 29, 2019 11:39 AM GMT
Quite a few years ago I took the Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Calgary and Judith came on board to interview people for the travel show she was fronting at the time. Chatted with her for a few minutes and found her charming, bubbly and completely down to earth. She didn't do the two day trip, she was helicoptered in as the train pulled over to let a massive train carrying timber to pass and spent about three hours on board.

Actually made money on the footy tonight. Obviously boxingthefoxes wishes for good fortune work, and I need to cut off his foot and carry it with me as a good luck charm!
Report boxingthefox January 31, 2019 11:02 PM GMT
Glad to hear that JC, unfortunately I need both feet, call me selfish but there it is. I could send you a papier mache model, but obviously that would only work with paper money betting, Laugh
