Talking of toilet paper

IN THE 50s AND 60s HUGE NUMBERS OF PEOPLE USED THE DAILY NEWSPAPER FOR TOILET PAPER .LOADS OF PEOPLE IT WAS THE NORM .IF YOU WAS POSH OR TRIED TO LOOK POSH YOU WOULD CUT THEM INTO SQUARE PIECES MAKE A HOLE IN ONE CORNER AND THREAD A PIECE OF STRING THROUGH AND THEN HANG THE NEWSPAPER SQURES IN THE TOILET .IF NOT YOU JUST RIPPED THE NEWSPAPERS WITH YOUR HANDS AND HAD BIG PIECES SMALL PIECES AND ALL SHAPES WHEN YOU RIPPED IT APPART .YOU THEN SHOVED THE NEWS PAPER BEHIND THE PIPE THAT LED DOWN TO THE TOILET OR THROUGH IT ON THE FLOOR

I WONDER WHAT THEY USED ON THE TITANIC

PEOPLE COLLECTED NEWSPAPERS AND TOOK THEM INTO THE LOCAL CHIPPY IN EXCHANGE FOR SOME CHIPS AND BITS OF BATTER IT WAS 50s RECYCLING BEFORE RECYCLING WAS INVENTED. THAT'S WHERE TODAY'S NEWS IS TOMORROWS CHIP WRAPPER CAME FROM. THEN PEOPLE USED THE CHIP PAPER ROLLED UP TO HELP LIGHT THEIR FIRE. THAT'S PROPER RECYCLING

I was in a very cheap hotel in Egypt about 10 years ago, there was no bog roll in there but there was a newspaper

I was on holiday in Greece and the toilets weren't good enough to take poo AND toilet roll so you were supposed to put your **** toilet paper into a bin beside the toilet. This is in summer in a place like that. Needless to say smell and flies were something of an issue!

CAn't remember if there was anything on the toilet paper, it was Greece so maybe there was a subtle Turkish flag :)
