Leaving Neverland had its world premiere on Friday at the Sundance Film Festival, and critics were quick to comment on the four-hour documentary that details allegations of sexual abuse against Michael Jackson.

The film focuses on the accounts of Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who have long claimed that they were raped and molested by the singer at his Neverland Ranch.

Jackson denied all allegations that he abused underage boys during his lifetime, and his estate has done the same in the decade since his death.

'Leaving Neverland is a horror film - an intimate, obviously believable, sometimes sexually explicit story of two boys who became Michael Jackson’s special "friends" - i.e., lovers - while their oblivious parents went along. Jackson was a fiend - a smooth predator, a monster,' said Jeff Wells of Hollywood Elsewhere.

'Feel sick to my stomach after watching Part 1 of #LeavingNeverland doc. Michael Jackson witnesses/sex abuse victims coming off very credible. It’s so sexually explicit that counselors are in the lobby,' wrote Mara Reinstein of US Weekly.

Robson and Safechuck both received a standing ovation from the audience after the film before tearfully answering questions about the documentary.

Both men go into graphic and specific detail about what allegedly happened in Jackson's bedroom when they were just children, with both men claiming they were abused from approximately the age of 7 until they were 14.

I was never a fan, more of a Gary man, me.

I've always been of the opinion that MJ was a kiddy fiddler, even when he was cleared in court.  However, I'd be interested to know what evidence there is.  Testimony is not enough.

The two boys involved appear to have been damged, which is why paedophilia has to be classed as wrong.

He was a rich man and if he indeed was into kids, he would definitely have used his money and influence to get his desires fulfilled. But making a documentary on it after so many years is probably nothing more than a good money maker. Add a bit of drama with some real characters claiming they were abused and 'therapists present' at the festival in case someone needs help points to a good money making stint to me. Nothing more.

Yes he was cleared of all paedophile charges in his lifetime deTraveller.

I saw a documentray which said he had been deprived of a normal life as a child as he had to spend all his

time rehearsing with the Jackson 5 under the auspices of his father.

So his friendship with adolescents and children was trying to live something he had lost.


But he started to get quite wierd with all this plastic surgery, I dont know if he was trying to look like

Peter Pan or his pet monkey. He looked like a freak.

Is English your native language Leopard? It isnt mine but I think I said quite clearly that MJ would definitely have abused kids if he was into kids. Imo the first thing people do when the get money is fulfill their fantasies. And MJs might well have involved kids.

If you carefully read my post, I only criticised both MJ and the filmmakers. I am not sure why you think by criticizing him, I am being his apologist. That is not what apologist means as far as i understand the word.

If I was his apologist, i'd have added to my post that these two people have been on oath in court saying they weren't abused. Both these people also lost their court cases against MJ. But I didn;t add that to my post because I am not trying to defend anyone, just adding opinion to the thread like everyone does.
