I'm assuming the £600 was for his digger driver training course.

The destruction went on for "a good 20 or 30 minutes" and had left workers "gobsmacked".....

600 quid is someone elses 60,000,600,000, quid could have been needed to keep a roof over his family head,
something employers have always struggled to get their heads round forget all the fancy words ,power breakfast etc most people go to work for one thing and its an employers number one duty to make sure they get that one thing ,on time and the correct amount, job satisfaction, tyeam players etc dont pay the bills

By all means protest if you are being cheated but destruction is never a good idea as the organisation you have a grudge against has to pay for the damage and has less money to pay its employees. Put a notice on the roof or on the front door or attract the media in some other way like standing naked on top of the machine. All vandalism does is reduce the standard of living of the people whose taxes have to pay for it.

Will be covered by insurance ....cost less than 1p per business taking out insurance policies in future....I would have thought.

Guy will get 1 year in jail as involved violent behaviour .....at a guess.

@moisok -- can he use the mentally ill, known to the polis, promising footy or dart player, family life, CARD

Mentally ill? What sane person would do this?

Known to old bill? Probably, if violence or destruction is his first resort in any dispute.

Promising footy or dart player? Rally driver? Are demolition derbies a thing in this country?

Family life? If so they will be hoping for a few months' rest. It won't be a Travelodge hotel.
