Caught the last bit of this ad on tv so decided to google for more info; the sugar and fat contents were diabolical eg sugar (30.5g) and fat (20.1g) for a 100g portion.

It was advertised as a healthy snack (supposedly). Shocking!

the food industry is a sick dooby I can tell you

however

Betvita Biscuits: 28g sugar; 20% fat - 100g portion.
Jordan Frusli: 34% sugar
Nakd: 49% sugar
Nature Valley: 28% sugar
Perk!er: 39% sugar
Cadbury Crunch: 37% sugar
Coco Pops: 28%
Orange Juice: 8% sugar

Even Kelloggs Corn Flakes has 8% sugar; it's supposed to be a breadfast cereal yet 8% is sugar. Wholly unnecessary, I strongly believe. A breadfast of corn flakes with orange juice = 16% sugar. Absolute madness. No wonder obesity is becoming an epidemic amongst the young and middle-aged.

it is a scandal

Agree but cornflakes and juice have been around a long time. Have they actually put more sugar in or is it down to majority of kids doing little sport in schools or anywhere else, x-boxes ruling their lives and a snacking culture. Probably both!

Sugar is sugar, and there's no such thing as good or bad sugar; the sugar in the juice is natural sugar, but the effect on the body is the same if over-consumed. For instance, dried fruits eg apricots (41% sugar); 1 grape = 0.4g sugar (50 grapes = 20g sugar); 100 = 40g. I think only drink fruit juices in moderation, but instead have water with corn flakes for breakfast - cheap and best. It also flushes and cleanses one's system, and hydrates too.

The little "darlings" need to get out more eg walk (not chauffeured), and be more active; curtail fast food to maybe once a month; no sugary snacks or crisps.

Sugar in corn flakes, why and how is that necessary? If this is because of dried fruits buy plain ones - cheaper and healthier.

there is so much sh!te being stuffed into almost anything you can mention apart from natural fruits and veg (which all have large amounts of carbs and sugars)

if you toil in the field for 8 hours a day you will burn most of it off

not sure how many field toilers we have though
