The man, believed to be in his 50s, was savagely knifed in the neck on a South Western Railway train near Horsley at around 1.15pm.

Looks like a targeted attack. To stab one man (in the neck - guaranteed death) and then run would suggest that.

The OP has questioned 'no description?'. It does defy belief given the other passengers and those who saw the suspect run from the train. |

A train full of passengers, a platform and station full of travellers.
There must be loads of witnesses, loads of detailed descriptions of the attacker, not to mention lots of CCTV and mobile phone video footage. The fact that none of it seems to have appeared anywhere is down to the hard work, dedication, and organisation of the authorities (aka censorship team). |
