FOR THE LAST 3, Weeks or so , iv'e been listening to about 8 hours of music a day . I listen to everything from opera to head banging heavy metal stuff . So here's a question for my fellow forumites here , in the voice of roy 'posh plums' plumley , what would be your ONE choice of music to take with you to a desert island . I'll go first my selection would be the diva Maria Callas singing Casta Diva . It will probably be a different choice for myself tomorrow because i'm a bit like a monkey , i jump from tree to tree . I promise that i will listen to everyone's choice .Maybe i could give out some awards , to be decided by myself , for the best selections , etc . . .ps , kennymann , please don't select russ abotts 'atmosphere .

Did you know that you can sing a song and the sound waves can travel forever,in other words a song you sang in 1988 in a pub in London can travel to any part of the universe,and it can travel to the past or the future,so who knows you may have a hit in 100 years time with a song you sang long long ago.so the next time you hear a song and it reminds you of another song you can not think of,be careful what you say about it,because you may have written it,sang it,recorded it,50 years ago or in 50 years time it might be your song passing through the sound barrier.

You're right Culvin, YouTube is great, discovering new things on it all the time. The only downside is that it's too addictive - far too many late nights spent on it!!

I've been on it listening to music for at least 7 or 8 hours a day ,
for the last 3 weeks or more . I don't watch films or anything like that although I sometimes do .I like listening to music because you can of course do other things at the same time . |

The_KAMI , I love many songs like that . Some recently listened examples for myself would be Lynyrd Skynyrd's 'Free Bird and Deep Purples 'Child in Time , also Day in the life by Beatles and Led Zeps 'Stairway to Heaven . . I'll listen to The Stones Let it Loose , in a moment and i will then make a comment about it .

KAMIKAZEE , I like the song you choosed because the title and words strike a very strong chord in myself .I recently met someone and i've been playing it quite cool but inside myself , i'm bubbling volcano like with so much feeling for her and now i think it's very much time to let that feeling loose and i'll follow wherever that feeling takes me . Glad you liked it Culvin. You can spend a LOT of time discovering E.M. music on YouTube, such is the vastness of his output, but it would time well spent! I've seen him conduct his music in concert twice, and both occasions were incredible experiences. A Fistful of Dynamite (from which the above piece came) is probably may favourite Western score; and although Morricone is known mainly for his Western/Leone music, it is but a fraction of his soundtrack c.v. So there is a heck of a lot out there to discover, and I'm still discovering!
