I've not seen Purple for a few years now but you'll not hear this song live again.

As great as Ian Gillan is, there are certain notes a vocalist cannot possibly reach at his age!

It's a classic all right!

Check out a full length live version - even the studio version.  Sceeeeeeeeeeeeeens!

Became a Purple fan in my teenage years , bought an album called Deep  Purple MK I and II

First disc is the original band doing Help , Hey Joe , Hush .

The second album features the classic 5 some , my fav was the incredible live version of Highway Star.

Hush is a top tune.  Some band or other covered it a few years' ago.  Not a patch on the original!

I've not heard Purple doing those other two, 626.

Google is my friend Cool

Yep, DP members even claimed they wrote it apparentlyCrazy.   Tim Rose and of course Hendrix's version is far better.

Nothing can match "Burn" as a Gillan era song imho, it's majestic but at 600 mph.
It's such a good song,  in Scotland the entire nation has a night covering its various remixes in January.

If you took burn and put more distortion on the guitar imho it was speed metal 20 years before anyone else did it.

If you didn't know deep purple you probably don't know much about Rainbow who are kind of related to them. Try listening to "stargazer" by Rainbow with Dio singing, makes child in time seem amateurish :P

I actually prefer Rainbow to Deep Purple I think. Try "Kill the King" by them if you liked Burn. It sounds political but I read somewhere it's actually written about .....

a game of chess ;) It's a belter of a song.
