Forgotten gem for you: Maria Magdalena - Sandra 1985

Doubt it gets more '80s' than that.

I have heard you mention that Furniture track before Slippers , which isn't bad at all ...just a really daft name for a band  Grin

Talk Talk had some of the best tracks of the 80s, unreal that in 1984 Its My Life and Such a Shame didn't even chart in the UK! but were massive in Europe and the Usa. Test of time though, Its My Life now still gets played more than most of the above!

Actual fave track, the epic Living In Another World with superb mouth organ and Steve Winwood on keyboards from the Colour Of Spring.

Sadly the lead singer hated fame and the music biz and packed Talk Talk in before 40 and has never reformed since ;(

I'll see if I can find the 80 singles poll I did a few years ago so you can see if you picked the same 10 songs then as you did now.

That is totally correct doridou, the lead singer of Talk Talk, Mark Hollis, just didn't want the money, fame nor glory. If they ever did reform, I would literally pay whatever it took to see them live. "It's My Life" is such a wonderful track as well, absolutely love it Love

Yep Slippy, baffles me how it didn't get in the top 40 in 1984, made no 1 in Usa dance charts! I was 11 but I know if i'd heard it I would have loved it, didn't discover them till the best of in 1990. Radio 1 must not have played it in 1984...

They are like two bands as a lot love the experimental side of the last 2 albums Spirit Of Eden and Laughing Stock, but I will always love their more commercial stuff just wish they had made more. Guess if he had just been after money and fame they would never have been as good.

Passionate Friend - Teardrop Explodes. Remember taking a 21 year old to see them at Bradford University. She loved this song and I got to like it very much. Enen though I was just turned 30 and was one of the oldest ones there, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
