It's all part of the script, Making out no-deal would be the end of the world for the UK makes Mays brino deal so more tempting to vote through government.

completely the opposite imo if 60 to 80 erg have a chance of  getting EU nirvana no deal, why even if they were minded to would 40 50 labour moderates put their careeers on the line in a losing fight ,when if the deal stays as it is the dup will bring the government down anyway, seriously believe the cabinet, whips have gone completely mad and unleashed armegeddon on all media outlets for no benefit and another climb down after losing the vote

Sky news newspaper commentator from NI said that hardly any of the DUP VOTERS want a no deal. They want the DUP to support May's deal but like most politicians they are not listening.

Theresa May is such an awful negotiator she's actually using no deal (well, WTO deal, but when the BBC adopts this lingua franca alongside 'crash out' instead of ' obeying the will of the people' then you may as well go with the flow) as a scare tactic.

No deal should have been planned for two years!

Then maybe the EU wouldn't think she's a joke and her 'deal' wouldn't be the steaming pile of t-urd that it is

Agree with that Hanx, the problem is Jon Snow and the like. They would have been screaming doom and ruin for two years (as they are now). The News people no longer report things, they get involved and can decide what we see and hear.

So?

Fk em!

People watch / read stuff more to have their prejudices confirmed than for enlightenment.

If May had adopted this approach from the get go, business would have had certainty, Remainers would have had a damn good moan - but then had nowhere to go and maybe even got used to the idea (I know it's too much to ask they actually get behind their country and talk up the benefits of a nimble, lean, 'open for business to the world' economy) and the EU would not have seized the agenda and butt-fked us royally.

Hell, we might even have been able to talk about sovereignty (what the vote was  actually about) rather than 'the deal' and how 17.4 million citizens went to bed normal people on 23rd June 2016 but woke up slavering racists on June 24th

No deal from day one was the obvious scenario. It's the logical position to take first and work from there.

She should have set up a Brexit Grant Fund. That would encourage British businesses to be started to fill any void that the EU can't or won't fill. Offer massive tax incentives to new businesses.

Then meet with heads of business within the EU and encourage them to move here with zero corporation tax for 5 years. Those that can't (eg wine producers), get them to lobby Brussels telling them trade should flow as freely as the plonk.

Then set up trade meetings x50 with American politicians and business leaders. Do that with Japan, China, South America too. Go and see Putin and tell him we're open for business.

Basically scare the EU witless. NEVER get on a plane to Brussels. Tell them to make an appointment at No. 10 and don't be late.

She never wanted us to be better off out of it, she's cleverly made sure it's a mess whatever happens.
