A good friend of mine went to parliament as an mp for two terms. He told me it was like belonging to a big posh gentleman's club. Corrupt, and most were only interested in getting their noses in the trough. You can get all sorts of positions of interest and influence (or be influenced) from which extra money can be earned. Of course with the eu trough to feed from it is even worse as so many get a good deal out of that, as well as the horrendous expenses they get to f!ddle. etc etc.
Nearly 2,800 active company directorships are held by politicians in Westminster, according to a book published on Thursday that sheds light on the financial interests of members of the houses of parliament.
