It does have it's plot holes and could easily have been a very cheesy film, basically a love story, although they can barely communicate, cleaning lady and under-water sea monster, definitely weird, but it is fairly entertaining. Sally Hawkins is outstanding and there is a s-e-x scene with the fish boy. Not a brilliant film, but put it this way, it is a bit different as a film experience. Wink

I read the reviews , an awful lot of 1 out 10 reviews.

I watched it a couple of weeks ago and thought it was terrific.

A fairy tale ,not dissimilar to Pans Labyrinth imo.

The always superb Michael Shannon and Sally Hawkins are excellent.

A complete and utter croc of a film, I scored it 1/10. To make matters worse it beat 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing' for best picture at the Oscars which quite frankly defies logic as I thought that was the best film in recent years.
